Have you forgotten that both Biden and Pelosi berated Trump when he restricted air travel for Chinese nationals coming into this country? And that was in January . Perhaps you would feel comfortable with New York City’s Mayor Bill de Blasio running the show? In early March he downplayed the threat of the virus and of course he has now completed the biggest flip flop imaginable as his city has become a cesspool for the virus.

It's just that on 1/31...it was too late. People from all over the world were going in and out of China in the month of Jan. You need to understand that Chinese New year was on the 1/25. The country basically is on Vacation for 2 plus weeks. Workers go back to their jobs on Mid Feb, sometimes they don't come back till late Feb. Families leave China for vacation.
During the month of Jan, companies from all over the world needed to get the status of their goods as to when they were going to ship. Companies had their QC Inspectors,Production Mgr, you name it, to push the companies. Most companies wanted their goods out before the new year so they sent their reps. If not, the good won't ship till late Feb/March
In my business sector, companies had the Magic Show in Vegas on the 9th of Feb, So samples had to be completed and shipped before 1/23. And there were many companies who had their Reps there in China during that time, from all over the world to get the goods out
1/31 to me was just a date, really didn't mean a whole lot to me...it may have slowed the process of the virus, but the virus was already all over the world and here spreading so...1/31..Meh

There were CDC warnings about the Wuhan epidemic on Jan 7 and Jan 8. Azar tried to get to see Trump to discuss the matter with Trump in early January. Trump would not meet with Azar for two weeks ... because no one is allowed to meet with POTUS if they want to discuss anything that will anger or upset him. Mulvaney as Chief of Staff made sure of it.
