"A federal judge appointed by Trump just pulled the rug out from under Texas Republicans by blocking their new gerrymandered congressional map for 2026, forcing the state to return to its old districts. The ruling, which calls out blatant racial gerrymandering, is a sharp rebuke to Governor Abbott and Trump’s calculated power grab. Watching a judge from their own political camp overrule them is a bit like seeing someone get burned by the very match they insisted on lighting, and it’s honestly hard not to laugh at the dramatic backfire." - The Other 98%

This will go to the Supreme Court.   But will also be interesting.    The major issue is the "race card" or issue they are saying.

But this could also have an impact on what was passed in CA as well.   Since that prop 50 gives the party in control more power to "draw" lines.   Will people bring up race as an issue.   Especially as demographics change in the USA.   It might take 10, 20, 30 years.   But it is things to think about.

This will also possibly be issues for other states where gerrymandering is being used or accused of being used.

Then it might’ve stood.
California put it through a vote and the people spoke. Hard to go against the people.
But with the courts and the DOJ being what it is , you never know

Possibly and agreed it was rammed thru by TX.

The issue could come up in CA is when the "controlling" party makes changes.   Then it could be just like TX.   See what I am getting at.    TX let the controlling party draw the "new" lines.   Now they looked at it and found racial issues.... or no "one" race is majority or something like that.   I am not saying that is happening in CA.   But just saying when you have one party that will now "control" drawing the lines (CA's bill) it could happen.   The previous way CA was getting drawn was a bi-partisan committee.

It will be interesting how this all unfolds.    It will also not just be CA but other states will come into play with this as well.
