A very close vote, which could have gone either way, on an amendment to remove from the Patriot Act the part which allows the government to snoop on what books you check out of your public library or buy from booksellers.

That part of the Patriot Act was among the most outrageous of its assaults on our freedoms as Americans.

We are losing more and more of our freedoms.

Note also the cowardice of the ten Republicans who changed their positions literally at the last minute.

Been reading too many conservative political tracts lately?  And several Ayn Rand novels as well!  Fits the profile of those who wrote those threatening letters to the IRS.  We'll have to ask you to come in for some questioning.
