Trump raises doubts about participating in debate with Harris...

The gutless POS is already looking for a reason to back out of the debate.  He agreed to the debate on ABC with Biden and then agreed again to the debate on ABC when Harris replaced Biden.  But now the yellow-bellied, lily-livered, spineless coward is laying the groundwork to back out of the debate because the whiny little bitch apparently just discovered that ABC would be unfair to him.

The man who wants to be the Leader of the Free World is afraid of debating Harris although he questions her intelligence and says he's much smarter than she is.

The pusillanimous pussy should be eager to debate Harris because not only is she dumb, but like all righties, Trump knows the only reason she got to where she is is by sucking Willy Brown's dick.  So why is Trump so afraid?

Once Trump saw Harris' performance at the DNC he knew she'd kick his ass. It was only a matter of time before he found an excuse to duck the debate.

Kamala wants the mics turned back on.  This is a change of the rules Biden agreed to and Kamala insisted on continuing.

She wants an "I'm speaking!" moment.

Why would she need an "I'm speaking!" moment? ... unless Trump tries to interrupt her when it is not his turn to speak?  Or do you think that Trump doesn't have sufficient self-control to keep his trap shut when Harris is speaking?

At least you admit Kamala is now trying to change the rules she earlier agreed to.

ABC should just stick to the original rules.  But of course they are Team Kamala, so they'll do whatever she wants.

Harris never agreed to muted mics. Biden did. And the only reason But Trump’s team wants them muted is because they have no faith that he can keep his fat mouth shut. And they are correct because he’s like a child. He will be exposed. What a big baby.

The Harris campaign line when the ABC debate was in question: “This was already agreed to!”

The Harris campaign line when they realize they don’t like the rules: “We didn’t agree to this!”

I haven't read the articles about any debate rule changes yet but I will treat the above claims as being reasonable enough to address now.

Harris is a lawyer. Like most good lawyers, she takes notes and reads from notes. It is best to refer to notes when discussing very complex issues or widely varying topics.
.
Trump, OTOH, doesn't read and doesn't take notes (it would be waste of paper).

Trump apparently told Don McGahn he 'never had a lawyer who took notes' [April 2019]
.
"Former White House Counsel Don McGahn has come through with the best stories of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report. Most notably, there's McGahn's wild account of how Trump told him to get Mueller fired. Yet there's also this hidden gem, in which McGahn recounted a conversation with Trump about just why he told Mueller about all that "crazy sh-t."
.
"The report details a time when Trump asked McGahn about his interviews with the special counsel, which McGahn apparently explained away as something "he had to" do. Trump seemed satisfied, and then apparently asked a more pressing question: "Why do you take notes? Lawyers don't take notes." McGahn had a wonderfully snappy comeback, saying that "real lawyers" take notes. Trump responded that he has "had a lot of great lawyers, like Roy Cohn," and "he did not take notes." " [I wonder if Alina Habba takes notes? If Trump hired her, probably not.]
.
Trump Press Secy McEnany and Biden Press Secy Psaki always carried a big notebook to the podium so they could quickly flip to subject matter to answer Qs from the press and get the numbers and other details right.

Spin that one.
If anything, Trump would benefit from notes more than Harris.

Harris’ team never agreed dummy. Trump’s team already admitted they assumed (key word here) that it was the same rules as the previous debate with Biden. There was no earlier discussion or agreement for this debate. It’s just Trump’s team making assumptions. Get your facts straight.

Kamala is a walking anxiety attack, and she’ll want every advantage she can get away with. From her perspective she’s debating a goddamned bear that’s smarter and more quick witted than she is.

Trump on the open mic kerfuffle:

“We agreed to the same rules. I don't know. It doesn't matter to me. I'd rather have it probably on, but the agreement was that it would be the same as it was last time. In that case, it was muted. I didn't like it the last time, but it worked out fine. I mean, ask Biden how it worked out. It was fine, and I think it should be the same. We agreed to the same rules, same rules, and same specifications, and I think that's probably what it should be, but they're trying to change it. The truth is they're trying to get out of it because she doesn't want to debate. She's not a good debater. She's not a smart person. She doesn't want to debate.”

Trump says the debate will go forward with the original conditions agreed to with Biden.  No notes for Kamala, no sitting down.  He didn't specifically mention if mics will be muted.  Have to confirm on that.
.
So Trump prevailed in stopping Kamala from altering the rules (again.)

But Trump is a baby. Really, notes? That he cares about? Oh, and the best is, his team asked for muted mics. After his team asked for it, and after it was already a news story, Trump tweeted a long rant about things he didn't like such as NBC being bias, and it also included him saying he would prefer the mics on. That's because his team never told him they were trying to save his fat mouth from opening too much. And Trump doesn't like to take advice from smart people (his own team, so I assume you won't argue his team is stupid).

Reporting in NY Post that the muted mics will remain for the ABC debate.  So all the terms Biden agreed to (demanded, actually) remain in place despite Kamala's efforts to change them.  Glad neither ABC or Trump caved.  Now she can't say "I'm speaking!"

Presidents do not conduct the REAL biz of government in 2 minute increments w/o notes (or the presence of an expert staff). Much public speaking (e.g., State of the Union) is read from notes or a teleprompter ... except when the speaktrumper goes off script. I think that MAJOR points regarding logical thinking and reasoning, command of some major facts (crime up or down; NOT crime is down 17.365%, except during a full moon when it is only down 16.266% ...) can be assessed, to some extent, from these "debates".
.
Some argue: "If [Harris or Trump] can't handle a simple debate question, how will [she or he] handle [Putin or Xi or Covid ...]???" POTUS does not negotiate with foreign leaders without the Secy of State and other staff with agenda items and copious notes at hand. Well, Trump thought he could handle Putin and Xi and others one-on-many. Trump ended up giving away secret intel info to Lavrov and Kislayek during his first month in the Oval Office. In fact, Trump gave them high-level Israeli intel while standing IN the Oval Office: Trump, Lavrov, Kislayek, and a Russian spy-photographer. NO OTHER AMERICANS WERE IN THE ROOM. Trump met privately with Xi and an American translator present.  No DoS or other American expert was present. Trump took the translator's notes from her and destroyed them at the end of the meeting. NO ONE who was not present KNOWS what Trump and Xi spoke about or agreed to. (Patents for Ivanka in exchange for removing sanctions on some hi tech Chinese companies?) THAT kind of stuff is not gleaned from these "debates."
.
I believe that every modern POTUS but Trump consulted with his predecessors on important issues. Their legacy knowledge could help to work through the continuing situations. I know of ZERO stories where a former POTUS declined to help or to say, "Screw you! I want you to fail!" Trump wants a border crisis, Trump wants a recession before the election. You don't get those messages from a "debate": "Mr. Trump - you have said you want a recession before the election to help your campaign. You are willing to hurt all Americans on the chance it will improve your electability. Do you still feel that way?" "FAKE NEWS! I NEVER said that!"
.
http://www.cnn.com/2024/01/08/politics/trump-economy-crash/index.html
Trump says he hopes any economic crash would happen before he could serve a possible second term [Jan 2024]
" ... “When there’s a crash, I hope it’s going to be during this next 12 months because I don’t want to be Herbert Hoover. The one president – I just don’t want to be Herbert Hoover,” Trump said in an interview that aired Monday on the right-wing platform Lindell TV. ..."
.
Great debate or oratory skills are not always the best indicator of leadership skills. Winston Churchill, FDR, ... YES. But Hitler was a great orator, too. Poor oratory skills are not always the best indicator of leadership skills.
.
The differences between Harris and Trump are so HUGE that "debates" of this format will not help us learn about what they might be like as POTUS. There is already a huge amount of non-debate data to guide us. Most basically, Prosecutor versus Felon.  A "debate" won't change that.

But maybe that's trump plan, lie,lie and lie and avoid talking about policy, or project 2025.
But it seems his campaign insisted on muted mics...to save trump from trump.
If he's too weak to stand up to a woman , then...Its no wonder putin, Xi, and Kim Jong had their way with him.

It's just the opposite. We won't be able to hear Trump but those in the studio will hear Trump complaining "Fake news!" "Liar!" "Witch hunt!" "Lunatic!" "I never said that."

MAYBE Harris will address Trump and say, "I'm speaking." I'd rather hear her say, "Shut the fuck up you pathetic malignant narcissistic lying maniac!"
