Just taking these two steps alone would make a huge difference in reducing the debt.

The entire take on yearly Income Taxes is used to pay "towards" the 'interest' alone on the debt.
The world banks put the first nail in the coffin of the United States in 1913 with the creation of the erroneously named Federal Reserve. (it ain't Federal and there ain't nuthin in Reserve).

Fiscally this country is circling the drain; the loss of our Bill of Rights is just helping push the Grand Experiment down all the quicker.

The main reason we've had an almost unbelievably high standard of living over the past THREE decades is because we have piled up the largest mountains of debt in the history of the world.

We have been robbing future generations blind for so long that it doesn't even seem to bother most people anymore.  We have become accustomed to living in debt.  We go into massive amounts of debt to get an education, we go into massive amounts of debt to buy a home, we go into massive amounts of debt to buy our cars, and we even pile up debt to buy holiday gifts and to purchase groceries.

The only way that the U.S. economy continues to "grow", going forward, is if the debt bubble continues to "expand". If our political leaders allowed the debt bubble to pop the U.S. economy would go into a deleveraging cycle and we would start living far below our means for an extended period of time. This of course would create a deflationary depression that would make the Great Depression of the 1930's look like a Sunday afternoon picnic. Most of us are in no mood to take that kind of hard medicine. So our politicians will continue to kick the can down the road and do nothing until the debt spiral explodes in our faces. In summary: We have met the enemy and it is us

Economic growth, jobs and sound fiscal management. Cutting income taxes for the rich and making middle class poor is not going to get it done.

We did balance the budget in the 90”s and started paying of our debt.

As long as the rich 1% gets a free ride, nothing is going to happen other than class warfare

and when he is called on them, he simply blames the GOP. The topic really doesn't matter, everything that is wrong with this country is the fault of the GOP. Some people are much more entertaining to "talk about" than they are to "talk too" AF is definitely one of the former.

...What proof do you have that there wasn't a balanced budget and that every Republican voted against the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993?  Can you prove there wasn't a budget surplus in 1998?  Of course you can't - you just say shit and hope stupid people will swallow it.  IOW, you're a typical Republican.

What are you going to do, link an article in print?

The "graph" shows a budget surplus of "GDP" during the late 90's.

The problem with GDP is it's not actually capital, so you can't really claim there was a "budget surplus"

...and as you already know, the GDP was based on the tech boom. I challenge you to prove me wrong..

that immigration is a huge problem, all the while they have their money in companies who hire undocumented immigrants, and often hire them for personal and family use (landscapers, nanny's, cooks, etc. And, they also want the government to give away that money to protect the companies, in those countries, that they have money and interest in. Talk about being a drone for the 1%.  Keep up the good work!   ;)

Was it your great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, or you that IMMIGRATED to the states?

Why do you think western countries give aid?

Simply to bu influence and to keep economic colonialism.

The cause for all on your list is because we have party considers everything an entitlement even though we pay into SS and Medicare.

Same party also considers poor people are lazy and don’t want to work which is absolutely not true. If we increase minimum wage, we will ~$18 billion a year in TANF, Children’s medical insurance and what not.

As long as we don’t want to face the truth, it will only get worse.

I don’t why Republicans talk about corporate welfare?
