...and their insurance company is going to bleed on this.. As far as the OP's opinion, there's a good chance that had it been an English speaking "white" person (or any color American) may have been able to read any signs warning of dangers in confined spaces and dialed 911. Osha will determine if there were the proper warnings and/or training involved and act accordingly and if substantial violations are found, criminal charges could be brought.
Information/training like this is not unusual in agriculture related operations, it's an environment that needs to be respected for the dangers that exist.

Trust me ickydik, there's plenty of OSHA around yet to make it to the scene and start an investigation. There were no cuts that would have made the difference in this tragedy. Too bad you and Snowfool seem to think there's a reason to spike the football on news that 6 people are dead. That's some twisted shit, you should probably walk away from society for a couple days or weeks and try and clear your head.
It was a BURST PIPE. Osha or any gov agency wouldn't have saved it. Sounds like total accident. Bust pipes happen.
Now with the farmer/operator/insurance company..... was there a "safety" procedure in place? Who knows. Was this something that even that wouldn't have mattered. IE: happened so fast and exposed to the gas so quickly it wouldn't have mattered. Yet to be determined.
Now people will "blame Trump" because of DOGE cuts to OSHA.... fucking idiots. OSHA CUTS.... wasn't to the many safety regulations. It was more to do with "restrictions", permitting time frames, etc. It was to the red tape. But facts want to be ignored. They will say... but but but he cut "inspectors".... dairies didn't get inspected that much. PLUS IT IS STATE/COUNTY INSPECTORS that do it.... not federal.
A burst pipe that allowed a concentration of harmful gasses OR gasses that could displace enough oxygen to make the air unsafe in a confined area. The last two words will be the crux of the investigation. Kind of like when 1st responders (usually cops) go to a hazmat scene or are already on a hazmat scene (workers) and end up in such a place. The first thing one should notice is the bodies piling up ahead of you and take that as a sign to stay out.
Busted pipes don't just happen. There's a flaw in the pipe, it's been maintained poorly or it's been compromised either by being damaged or something upline pushed too much pressure into it. Those are literally the only causes of a pipe to burst. It's not the bursting pipe that took the lives, it was the atmospheric environment that the workers were either in at the time or ventured into that took their lives. The pipe was just a factor in the whole equation.
I've been dealing with HAZMAT related things since the mid-90's, gotta pretty good feel for what's about to happen out there.
Correct.... we don't know if the pipe was damaged, had a "blockage" or flow problem, a safety/shutoff valve malfunction, etc. What I meant is pipes burst... that isn't political, and OSHA wouldn't have saved these people.
Dealing with cattle and have worked on a few farms in my day..... a pipe can easily be damaged (cattle kicking, rubbing, etc on things). Also if this dairy was automated with robots... again could easily be damaged as well. Equipment hitting the pipe. Also....farm hands are not too careful with things. Skid steers, tractors, etc. Moving feed, hay, cleaning up shit, etc. Tend to hit things.
Now you want to talk about the "confined area".... windows possibly shut, people couldn't get to them, fans turned off, not working, etc. Or were these people down there trying to fix something when the pipe burst?
