the first year of the Obama presidency when he went on his "apology tour."  He went to many countries and gave speeches about how bad America has been throughout history.  Every European knows if it weren't for the US, they would be speaking  German now, so at the end of the day, all that happened was these other countries started taking even more advantage of us  under his weak leadership.  That's why Trump has to renegotiate everything.  Other than two years in the Senate where he did nothing, his experience was as a voter-registration worker.   I hear he was awesome at getting voters in Chicago to register Democrat.  Maybe he should have stayed with it.  He's a classic example of the Peter Principal.

gave in France, Germany and other European countries, where he said the US is to blame for much of the world's troubles (much like you are doing) and he is going to try to fix-it.  (I believe the speeches are still archived on the internet.)  The problem is, Obama fixed nothing just caused a general loss of respect for the US.  That's why Trump has to renegotiate everything.

BTW, I DID bow to the Queen of England when introduced many years ago.  I was not a head of state, nor am I a UK citizen (which requires a bow from the waist like Obama gave the Saudi King), so a slight head-bow is used to show respect for her position as head of state and is considered proper protocol (because you are not supposed to touch the Queen or shake her hand like the classless Michelle Obama did), not to mention good manners.

I am NOT asking for ID-exposing info, but, if you can say more, what was the occasion?

who I roomed with in grad school and have been lifelong friends with was Knighted (along with some other deserving individuals), and asked me to attend as one of his guests.  I met her at the reception afterward.

Interesting. Given your background in real estate and construction, I thought you might have been called in to fix or replace the Royal Porcelain Throne and passed HRH on the way in and out.
.
Did you grab her by the Corgi?

when the corgi started humping my leg, I wasn't sure if protocol demanded that I let him finish, or if it was okay to shoo him away before he soiled my trousers.

About 25 years ago, the Mayor announced that the Queen of England to going to be visiting San Francisco.  Of course, the gay community was planning a huge parade in her honor, but then someone told them that the "Queen of England" was really a woman.
