Donald Trump is sounding presidential again.

Trump was sounding off this morning about two of our biggest economic problems.
China
OPEC

Trump has been talking about the necessity of tariffs on Chinese goods. He suggests a 25% tariff to help offset the trade imbalance. That sounds like a great idea and he also blasted the Chinese for their currency manipulation.

Obama will be kissing Hu's ass tonight. As opposed to showing Hu that we are the boss, I expect Hu to be doing the dictating and Obama doing the following.

OPEC will have their hands full with Trump who has no "agenda" aside from getting and keeping oil prices at reasonable levels. Trump describes OPEC as the "twelve men". Hopefully it will be the twelve men doing the bowing in time.

I call again on Trump for President.

PS: Trump aside, are these two subjects that everyone can agree needs to be addressed and needs to be dealt with while we still have the power?

he'd make an AWFUL POTUS----even less suited for the office than Perot. "Pirogen", with your frequent mentioning of him, I suspect you have a "man crush" on "The Donald". Trump would also have no chance for winning----IF he ran, he'd siphon off voters from the GOP candidate, insuring re-election of BHO, something you wouldn't be fond off. Btw, if you think he's gonna run as a Republican, guess again---not a snowball's chance in hell that he'd get the nomination.

As for high tariffs, that's been done before, with disastrous results in 1930, severely deepining "the great depression" Check the link below.

Clearly China & OPEC have to be dealt with, but, your simplistic approaches show that you even have a shakier intellectual grasp than Sarah Palin. As a "star trek fanboy" I suggest you beam up to the Enterprise & check its computer database on politics & history, before "vacuously" spouting off here-----------:)

1. A bad comb over
2. A cheesy reality show
3. Multiple bankruptcies

Meg Whitman is helluva lot more qualified than Trump, and the left dragged out an illegal alien a few weeks before the California election. The left will have a field day with Trump.

You want to control the price of oil? Are you nuts? How about kidnapping Juan Valdez so we can control the price of coffee?

A major player with us then.
Furthermore, Trump would not be siphoning from the GOP. He will run as a Republican, not and independent.
OPEC and China are not simplistic issues. It is also about time this Country is ran more like a business where we come out on top, not China and OPEC. Obama won't do shit for us in either area.

Snowballs chance? I heard that over and over when a nobody Chicago community organizer named Obama ran.

of beating BHO, let alone being the GOP nominee.

Romney & Christie have the best chance of beating BHO--------you should go with them instead.

And while I agree they are problematical, people today don't regard bankruptcies (chap11) as the "bad deal" like it was 25 years ago.

Our economy cannot recover until China and oil are addressed and fixed.
I will take a closer look at Meg Whitman. Frankly, I know very little about her.

Your points 1 and 2. I agree. I never understood why he doesn't get a hair transplant.

He will be the same old same old song and dance. I will probably be forced to vote for him or Christie but it will be the lesser of the evil vote.

I would not bet that Trump will win any nomination, but I am not ready to discount him either.

"Cheap oil" is a thing of the past. OPEC aside, China, India, the EU and the US are all competing for a non renewable resource, sorry guys, but that ship has already sailed. The only solution to high oil prices is to replace oil with something else, hopefully something else that we control. lol

As to China, we have already fired (finally) a shot in the trade war. Quantitative easing is the one shot that we have fired back at China. Trade tariffs are a fantasy, but flooding the world with dollars while the EU is floundering as well should make Chinas efforts to keep their currency depressed a failing effort. Of course many here are going to claim that a weak dollar is a horrible thing, but without it our trade imbalance is going to grow worse and worse.

If you and Pri would like to make a small wager, I will volunteer to hold the bets, but if I were you I would make Pri give you somne steep odds, Trump is almost certainly unelectable. Palin has a better chance.

I do have to confess, I am curious to see if the GOP can field an electable candidate. Obama is vulnerable, but only if the GOP nominates a viable candidate, and that is far from a sure thing.

Companies wholly owned or majority owned by Trump have filed for Chapter 11  at least three times that I can remember. And just bc it was not a Chapter 7 liquidation does not mean that creditors were made whole - to the contrary, the junk bond holders in the Taj Mahal bankruptcy took a major haircut and all creditors had to wait to get anything paid.

Trump also effectively was personally bankrupt in the 1990s but his family bailed him out. I doubt Trump can get a credit card these days without special approval.

Can you imagine this guy arguing that Mr. Obama is spending too much in a debate with his junk bond financing history, or arguing poor management with his history of failed companies?

Get real. Arnold is a much more viable candidate if he was US born.

OK, that was a pretty bad pun. Of course that's assuming anyone knows who he is. A black liberal vs a black conservative. Now that would be fun to watch.

My actual dark horse is Mitch Daniels, Gov of Indiana, but I can't even find him on any of the Vegas lines.

Too bad Arnold can't run, it might have made a very interesting race.

Who knows if another Bill Clinton will come out of the woodwork? Obama is a very vulnerable incumbent POTUS, I don't see an electable Repubican in the current landscape, but that doesn't mean one won't emerge in the next few months.

New York...NY hasn't voted for a Republican in a presidential election since 1984 & breaking it down further, the borough of Manhattan hasn't voted for a republican since Calvin Coolidge, so Trump would even be embarassed in his backyard..

Sure beats the pansy Obama who is clearly intimidated by China and other world leaders. I think we need a president to bring us back to reality and back to the forefront of respectability around the globe.

Do you think that letting China and OPEC walk all over us is a good idea? You want four more years of having a frightened teleprompter reader at the helm? We need a leader, and if you don't think that Trump is the man, then so be it. Perhaps you have someone else in mind. I would like to hear who you think can do a man's job. It ain't Obama.

Incorrect. The press had field day with W regarding his INABILITY to run a business given his Harvard MBA.  And, if eligible, do you really think Arnold would be a viable candidate with his disastrous record as California governor?

At least Herman Cain has experience in the financial world. He knows how the dollar works, has run businesses, and made payroll. BHO has none of that. Mr. Cain is a cancer survivor, for 5 years anyway, and has said he would not actively seek public office....unless, of course the demand was there.

Also, you KNOW the liberal blacks, along with the MSM, would crucify Mr. Cain as an Uncle Tom.
