The other day I was on a flight with 3 soldiers just getting home from Iraq. They were saying how they were supportive of the war when they first went over there. Then they found out they there for no reason at all. The one soldier said " They were shooting at us for no reason and we were shooting them for no reason" People are dying for no reason.... They all said they will not be voting for Bush in this election because he let them down as a commander and chief.   I started to think how can a Pro Lifer like Bush be so inclined to kill people for his own personal gain. Also if he is a pro lifer why does he not want stemcell?? That would help so many people from dying or suffering.  I know it has to do with unborn fetises, but if they are already dead then why not use them to help other people to live and walk again??? Isnt that why we have science?? We have been waiting hundreds of years for a cure and we have it and our President doesn't want anything to do with it. There are 1000's of girls haveing abortions each year. Instead of destroying the embroyos why not use them to help people?? That is one huge reason I am voting for Kerry. I know I am going to get a lot of backlash for my comments but I just had to say something......XOXO Bridgette

I don`t know where to start. There are so many assumptions in your post to talk about. I`ll just pick out a few.

What is this personal gain that GWB will enjoy as a reward for killing people. Do you really believe that a president would kill people in a war for personal gain? I guess you`re talking about oil. The arguement is just ridiculous on it`s face.

GWB does not ban stem cell research to my knowledge. I believe his position is not to fund it. You say that we have a cure...really? Who told you that? It`s false. At the very best any treatment that could come from stem cell therapy is decades away. I heard Micheal Reagan, who claims to be involved with a group that knows the facts, say that every injection given to lab mice has resulted in the death of that mouse. Please don`t make it sound like GWB is keeping the paralized in wheelchairs. It`s just not true. If you notice, even Edwards dropped that claim after he got slammed for claiming such nonsense.

I was in the Army for four years, myself, and won a RA appointment to West Point, and I knew plenty of military people who didn't support "everything military".  I think that the people on here who say all the military people they talk to support the Bush administrations' handling of Iraq probably are talking to soldiers that feel the same way they do, just like we tend to talk with people who feel the same way we do in civilian life.  Just because someone is in the service doesn't mean they can't disagree with their "leaders".  Just ask John Kerry. :)

As for the stem cell stuff, Bridgette...that can be summed up in one word, honey...R-E-L-I-G-I-O-N.
