Here is the TRUTH:
FACT - the recall election was in 2021, not 2022.
FACT - there was no Democratic strategy to not let any serious Democratic challenger run against Newsom if the recall was successful.
FACT - Conservative votes were NOT split. There were NOT a dozen Republicans running against Newsom.
FACT - Newsom got 61.9%, NOT “less than 50%.”
CDL obviously did not vote in the Newsom recall election because he doesn’t know anything about how a Cali recall election works.
There were TWO separate ballot votes in the recall:
1. Should Gavin Newsom be recalled as Governor of California - Yes or No?
2. Vote for one of the following candidates for Governor:

The second vote only counted if the majority voted “Yes” on Question 1. Otherwise, the results would be irrelevant and ignored.
The result of Question 1 was NO - 61.9%, YES - 31.8%. This was the exact same percentage of the vote. Newsom got when he won the election for governor in 2018.
Assuming, arguendo, that the majority had voted YES on Question 1 to recall Newsom, his name would not have been listed among the candidates in question two. You cannot get recalled in Question 1 and then get reelected in Question 2.
Yet that’s exactly what CDL is claiming - Newsom ran against a dozen Republicans and won with less than 50% of the vote because the dozenRepublicans split the vote. Pure fiction - Newsom’s name wasn’t listed in Question 2.
Therefore, he did not run against a dozen Republicans. There was no splitting of the Republican vote. Newsom did not get “less than 50%” of the
vote because his name was NOT on the ballot in Question 2.
