3. Trump neutralizing the Harris abortion argument by explaining his own position while asking her if she is in favor of allowing abortions in months seven, eight, and nine, which she did not answer.

I thought neither one of them did particularly well, but the biggest take away was the absurd performance of ABC News. If you go back and look at the CNN debate between Trump and Biden you can see they surprisingly did a great job. Completely neutral, professional, and doing what moderators are supposed to do, asking unbiased questions.
ABC not so much. It seemed like Trump was more busy debating ABC than Harris. ABC even lied on a fact check, 7 states allow post birth abortion, including Harris’ own running mate state of Minnesota. This very point was raised by Trump at the debate with Biden, and we had to remind everyone of my home state’s former Governor Ralph Northam admitting to this. Harris even repeated the very fine people hoax that even Snopes now say is bullshit.
Harris smirking didn’t help her either, I seem to recall that many people thought Hillary won her debate against Trump but her smirking turned a lot of voters off.
Trump did fail to land quite a few punches that he should have, but I thought the same thing about his two debates with Biden. One political poll on X had Kamala winning the debate, another on CSPAN had Trump winning the debate.
But neither one I think had a very memorable performance. What was most memorable was ABC’s atrocious performance.
CNN was very even handed in their debate moderating. This ABC was the most biased in modern times. Just awful.
Because in their post debate poll, they had Kamala clobbering Trump, 63-37. And you don't want to hear about the PA focus group they did. Spoiler alert: It didn't go well for Team Orange.
CSPAN viewers had a different take.
I just did a search and can't find a single link to a C-SPAN poll, let alone one that says Trump won.

Interesting that you fault Willy for posting the results of the CSPAN X Poll without a link while ignoring Robert’s post, which initiated the subthread based on his posting the results of CNN’s X Poll.
1) Willy posted it as if it was a professional poll done by a reputable polling group. It wasn't.

What dimwits like Fester don't get is in the CNN-moderated debate one of the ground rules going in was the moderators would not fact-check the participants. So they let Trump get away with numerous lies and Biden failed to pick up the ball. In this debate the moderators were permitted to fact-check in real time and Trump agreed to that. He could have avoided it by just not blatantly lying. But he can't help himself. Trump actually should be grateful because he lied more than 30 times and there just wasn't enough time for the moderators to call him out on every one. Harris did a good job of picking up that ball but even she had to let loads of Trump lies go un-rebutted.
Trump was lucky it wasn't worse for him.
The job of a moderator is to ask tough challenging questions of each candidate and to maintain a balance in responses between both. They’re not there to debate the candidate themselves. We’ve had both good and bad debate moderators in past election cycles, but this was unprecedented. The main take away from this was ABC News were the ones debating Trump, not Harris.

Why would Harris take so much heat avoiding interviews, all her past interviews show she completely bombed them and then go into a debate where she shows she can handle herself as well as any average politician? How does any of these things make sense?
She came very late to this party for all the reasons you should know. She had to put together a campaign organization, manage a convention and develop positions on the important issues that reflected her values and not simply those of Biden. While she was doing this she was understandably reluctant to do interviews where she might be pinned down and enunciate policies she'd later have to change.
What's so strange about that?

Reputable journalists have said Trump lied around two dozen times while Harris lied twice. And what about she and Walz being gun owners is wrong? Walz actually won the rifle target shooting contest among Congressmen. Harris, as a law enforcement officer has probably had a pistol permit for many years.
