Those nations offer nothing. They don't want the refugees, they don't put up a military force to deal with Hamas, etc. Gaza has no future with Hamas at the controls. It would be nice to hear that loud and clear from regional Muslim states. I don't even hear that and that is just giving lip service!
.
Until they get in the game, Trump and BN will run the show. We can complain all we want about those two, as both are dolts and idiots, but the real issue is Iran, and its proxies, along with Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, etc constantly sitting on the sidelines. It's about time Muslims who claim to care about Palestinians step up, get in the game and do something other than bitch how Israel/US are handling things.

Why should Israel and Trump care more about Gazans than their fellow Muslims?
I've long said I think the Netanyahu government's secret policy is to de-populate Gaza and take it over. Trump is now saying pretty much the same thing. From The NY Times:
"Trump says he wants Jordan and Egypt to take in Palestinians from Gaza.
President Trump declared on Tuesday that Palestinians had no choice but to leave Gaza because of the devastation wrought by Israel’s war with Hamas after the terrorist attack of Oct. 7, 2023, suggesting that they be given a new homeland.
Mr. Trump made the comments to reporters shortly before hosting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel at the White House to talk about the next stage of a cease-fire in the Gaza war. Speaking in the Oval Office while signing executive orders, Mr. Trump said he wanted Jordan and Egypt to take in the Palestinians.
“They have no alternative right now” but to leave, Mr. Trump said of Gazans. “I mean, they’re there because they have no alternative. What do they have? It is a big pile of rubble right now.” He added: “I don’t know how they could want to stay. It’s a demolition site. It’s a pure demolition site.”
Mr. Trump seemed to indicate that he wanted to find a permanent new homeland for the Palestinians rather than reconstruct Gaza. “If we could find the right piece of land, or numerous pieces of land, and build them some really nice places with plenty of money in the area, that’s for sure,” he said. “I think that would be a lot better than going back to Gaza.”
While the president framed the matter as a humanitarian imperative, the notion of clearing Palestinians out of Gaza is an explosive one in a region that has endured generations of warfare over questions of homelands and forced migration. Neither Egypt nor Jordan want large numbers of Palestinians, given the burden and fears of instability, nor is it clear that Gazans would willingly abandon the enclave they have spent years defending, even with the destruction.
Mr. Trump’s meeting with Mr. Netanyahu will be his first in-person meeting with another world leader since returning to power two weeks ago.The two are expected to discuss negotiations for the second phase of the fragile cease-fire with Hamas, Iran’s efforts to build a nuclear weapon, new arms shipments and hopes for a deal to normalize relations with Saudi Arabia.
The meeting, which is part of a multiday visit to Washington by Mr. Netanyahu, is meant to demonstrate the close ties between the two leaders after more than a year of war between Israel and Hamas severely strained the relationship between the Israeli leader and President Joseph R. Biden Jr.
Mr. Trump and Mr. Netanyahu had forged a close partnership during the president’s first term but fell out toward the end of the president’s first term over a number of issues, including the Israeli leader’s willingness to congratulate Mr. Biden on his victory in the 2020 election that Mr. Trump to this day insists he won. Mr. Trump and Mr. Netanyahu have since sought to smooth over their rift and the president told reporters last weekend that he was looking forward to the meeting.
“The discussions on the Middle East with Israel and various and sundry other countries are progressing,” the president said, adding that Mr. Netanyahu would be “coming on Tuesday, and I think we have some very big meetings scheduled.”
But Mr. Netanyahu will be going into his meeting at odds with Mr. Trump on several key issues, according to analysts. Those are likely to include the questions of how to confront Iran’s nuclear ambitions and how quickly to end the war in Gaza.
The Trump administration has made clear that it wants to see all of the hostages held by Hamas returned and then move on to a grand bargain involving Saudi Arabia that formalizes relations with Israel. All of that hinges on an end to fighting in the Palestinian enclave.
With Mr. Netanyahu’s right-wing government in jeopardy if the war ends with Hamas still in control in Gaza, and with no other plan for the area in place, analysts expect the Israeli prime minister to try to delay moving to the next stage of the deal, which calls for a permanent cease-fire."

Why should Israel and Trump care more about Gazans than their fellow Muslims?
There can be no circumstance or outcome where Hamas remains as a political or military entity in Gaza. If the Arab states aren’t willing to step up, then it leaves it to the United States and Israel to change the status quo. Maybe Israel reoccupies Gaza with settlers. Gazans who reject Hamas and cooperate with Israel might be allowed to remain. But the sad reality is that a majority of Gazans are committed to the destruction of Israel. People who hold onto that attitude can’t be allowed to remain near Israeli borders.
after all the Palestinians have been removed. This is completely wacky and I can't believe he's serious.
It's actually so ludicrous I think he's got something else in mind. But this goofy idea is going nowhere.
Was flipping through the cable networks to catch the aftermath of the remarks. I think Joy Reid (MSNBC) was going to shit her pants.
Laura Ingraham (Fox) called it the most consequential presidential news conference in decades.
As far as ownership of territory goes, there’s historical precedent for a force starting a war, losing it and having to give up territory as a consequence.
Hamas hijacked Gaza. Most Gazans hate Hamas but have been too weak to take it back. No doubt Hamas can never be permitted to run Gaza again. But by international law, the Palestinians have a right to the land.
…for a force starting a war, losing it and having to give up territory as a consequence.”
chiCKenShit coCKSucker knows Jack shit about historical precedent in the Middle East. In 1956 and 1967, Egypt started wars with Israel, lost both wars, and gave up the Sinai Peninsula as a consequence.
Israel took over the Sinai and established settlements. Israel took over Egyptian oil wells and also drilled NEW oil wells.
The Sinai is almost THREE TIMES the size of Israel. That’s a pretty good “consequence” of winning a war. Israel held the Sinai for FIFTEEN YEARS and the returned it to Egypt as a “consequence” of peace.
…the new state ETHNICALLY CLEANSED Israel of Palestinians. 750,000 Palestinians were forced out of Israel. They went to refugee camps in Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon but most of them went to Gaza and the West Bank.
Now Trump wants to ETHNICALLY CLEANSE Gaza of Palestinians. I called it “ethnic cleansing” on this board a couple of weeks ago and I was right. Senator Chris Van Hollen also called it “ethnic cleansing” tonight.
I don't think much of Trump's intelligence but I think he's smart enough to know this will never happen. I think he's just grabbing a headline and diverting attention from Musk's rampage through our government focused on dismantling the FBI, the Dept. of Education, etc., etc.
It's true Gaza is a wreck and many Palestinians will just leave over time. But Trump's plan is almost funny and sounds like he wants to turn it into a version of Atlantic City. Where, by the way, he went bankrupt.
Looks like Gaza now...
…the “very valuable potential of Gaza’s waterfront property.”
Trump has a hard on for Gaza. He doesn’t give a shit about the Middle East other than how he can make money off it.
