What nonsense. Statistically, rich people are far more likely to put disposable income into savings — like Swiss bank accounts. What does go to investments is just as likely to be spent building factories in China that exports American jobs.

Winning over the trailer park people of Kansas and getting them to vote against their own economic interests is a real triumph of propaganda; supported of course by gay-bashing preachers and abortion fanaticism.

The "Joe the Plumber" tack was great PR but logically false.

It always was nonsense. What he claimed (falsely) was that his business would be taxed because he made $250,000 a year in income and that would deter job creation.

Utter nonsense — employee payroll is tax DEDUCTIBLE and therefore not taxed. A small business owner only pays additional taxes on personal income — what he pays himself as a salary. If he chooses to invest additional income back into the business (a common tax avoidance practice) it is NOT taxable! In fact he may get tax credits which increase his income.

If you object to slightly raising the taxes on people making taxable income of $250,000 a year (the pure profit only, after all deductions and credits) then how about people making $1,000,000 a year in taxable income?

How about billionaires?

Tea Baggers have been taught just hate the "idea" of taxes, not specific tax plans. It is a knee-jerk reaction, not real thought about governance.

Tax rates today are VASTLY lower than they were in the Reagan administration. They are the lowest they have been in modern history, and yet, rich people have convinced people like you to vote for reducing their taxes.

GE made billions in profits and pays ZERO taxes. Please, I'm begging you, let's have some Tea Bagger explain to us how that is a fair and just tax system. It will be fun to watch them try.

Just tested a theory of mine about the impact on "Joe SixPack" of events in Wisconsin and elsewhere.  My friend Joe is a municipal employee and a union man.  His wife works for the school system.  His daughter is a teacher.  His son-in-law is a policeman.  He hates Obama and has voted Republican for many years.  I asked him what he thinks of Republicans now that they're dissing public employees and trying to take away their collective bargaining rights.
He started spewing fire and brimstone.  Now he hates Republicans at least as much as Democrats.  His eyes are open.  Now, does this mean he'll vote Democrat?  Probably not.  But he may just sit on his hands come election time.  If he represents a serious percentage of the Republican base, they are in big trouble.

Count him as a solid Dem vote.

If only we can get EVERY person a job with government at some level, Dems could rule FOREVER!!!!!

Who needs a private sector anyways?

Also, not too bright.  Try going back to my original post (which I repeated).  The point is, the guy is an example of a typical Joe Sixpack who feels betrayed by Republicans and, if he's representative (he may or may not be, which is why I called it "a poll of 1," there could be ballot-box repercussions.  I was actually trying to have  a serious discussion of a possible phenomenon.  But one idiot (followed by you) just started pissing on the guy as if he's some sort of leech.  I  pointed out nothing could be further from the truth, but you idiots are so invested in your nasty world view that all you can do is piss and flame.
