Whole lot of Yikes! going on. I thought all of these were worth mentioning, but didn't want to post a zillion OPs. So here we go:

Now I know why Romney didn't want to disclose his tax returns.

http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/01/democrats-make-hay-of-romneys-financial-disclosure-errors----demand-more-tax-returns.php?ref=fpa

and speaking of GOP presidential candidates, Newt Gingrich just got a wonderful new endorsement....from a prisoner.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheats/2012/01/27/jailed-rep-endorses-gingrich.html

In more Presidential candidate news, looks like Ron Paul knew more about those racist news letters than he's let on. Who wudda thunk it?

http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/updates/4795

And what the fuck is wrong with Arizona?

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/27/us/secret-service-looks-into-image-of-obama-riddled-with-bullets.html?_r=1

http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/bastard/2012/01/barack_obama_t-shirt_blasted_b.php

And lastly, it looks like recall might just be the least of Gov. Walker's problems. :)

The "Far right" has "overplayed its hand" with arrogant overreach with far right governors & Tea Party congressman. Public sentiment is turning against them, "the GOP POTUS clown field" & the "1% corprotocracy" that is actually running the country.

Of course, "board righties" will see it differently, that U.S. has morphed into a "socialistic entitlement state" & folks while they may admire TP/Libertarian anti-government sentiments, DON'T want the cuts happening in
"THEIR back yard."

What this indicates at the moment ( though country is in volatile state & could certainly take a rightward turn ) is that the country is tilting leftward & "back to sanity". Same seems to be happening on this board.

Willy-----I noticed something------I arrived here little over 2 years ago & you got here few months before me. I've noticed exodus of righties on this board since then-----whaddaya think ? Coincidence ?-------;)------LMFAO !

as many conservatives claim, a move toward the center indicates a "leftward drift".

It may even go further than that, but time will tell-----

Romney will be the nominee of the Newt Gingrich Party.

No, I wouldn't go that far. I would say that the country is starting to drift towards the center though.

I don't believe conservatives when they claim the country is "center right". Hence, I don't see the country moving in a "leftward drift".

I think that trend will continue and we will end up like Europe.

How is the left going to pay for the goverment and benifits they want?

Just curious.

Just because more people become dependent on federal aid assistance does NOT mean that they will start thinking liberally.

There are many poor conservatives dependent on federal aid who are still pro-life, anti-immigration, pro-defense, etc. Hypocrisy among Americans on average is still alive and well.

There are a few things that are contributing to the move left. .  .

The increase in Government benefits. It's a lot easier to take the handouts from welfare than it is to take responsibility for ones action and economic future.

The lack of education which leads to unemployment in downturns. Puts more people on the dole. Once there a lot of them stay there. Oh they rotate from welfare, unemployment and low paying jobs. Food stamp is a constant.

Well educated people who can get jobs, establish carriers, invest, just by their hard work and resourcefulness take advantage of the poor uneducated.

Facts of life.

I freely admit that I'm glad the days of RightwingUnderground are over. To put it into perspective, the closest thing to a lefty here back then was Phil! lol.

hold pissing matches since RightWingUnderground stopped posting.  Huge loss for the P&R board.  As was the death of FastEddie.  His liberal take was always well constructed, well stated and open for the contributions of others.
