Until CDL posts links to the relevant interviews, we won't know how to compare or contrast the two numbers or if Newsom was even talking about the same book.

you are relying on this chart to support your argument that Trump's vocabulary is limited and passing it off as non-partisan. However, Joe Biden's name is not on here. If it stopped at Obama, it would be understandable, but to include Trump and not include Biden seems at the very best like cherry-picking, and at the very worst, partisan hackery.
Since Reagan and Trump are the best communicators of the past 100 years, this only shows that vocabulary can just as easily turn people off as turn them on in a President. Carter is arguably the worst President in the past 100 years with the possible exception of Joe Biden, yet his supposedly elevated vocabulary did nothing to get him elected to a second term.
I could reply, but I simply don't feel like it at this point.
