Donald Trump Tells Christians To Vote ‘Just This Time’
During his speech on Friday, Trump addressed Christians in the crowd and urged them to vote in November, emphasizing that they won’t have to vote again in four years. “Christians, get out and vote! Just this time. You won't have to do it anymore,” he told the crowd. “In four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good, you're not going to have to vote.”Because Trump’s a dictator and wants to change the rules so he can rule forever. It amazes me that people follow the orange criminal con man.
Not even close. And he's not Hitler either. What he is is a person that puts himself over country and he is evil, but that doesn't make him a dictator. Heated rhetoric like that is problematic. There are many, many legitimate criticisms against Trump as he is a racist and a misogynist, but we sound ridiculous and moderates don't take us seriously when we call him things that are simply provably false.
.
I would suggest just sticking with the things that are true about him as we don't need to do what Trump does; lie his ass off about how great he is and how everything is "perfect."
And what other interpretation of his statement last night is even possible? As far as I'm concerned Trump said straight out that if he's elected again he'll change the rules so his Presidency becomes permanent. Could he do that? With this Supreme Court he might be able to. These words should convince us he'd certainly try.
Zeel was speaking in the present tense. He is NOT a dictator as of now. Not even close. He obeyed court rulings, he didnt have his opponents shot or jailed, he doesn't quell dissent. Yes he mocks the media incessantly but is entitled to do so per his free speech rights. I am not saying it isn't a concern moving forward, but "dictator" references don't carry any legitimacy as of now.
.
And I am 100% certain that the SCOTUS will now allow him to have an indefinite presidency. The 4 progressives wouldn't allow it and neither would Roberts so there are 5 votes against minimum. I think the actual vote would be 9-0. I have no real reason to believe he will keep the presidency by force. I just think that is highly unrealistic if not damn near impossible.
.
Trump is more bluster than anything else. He talks in absolutes like a mad man. He lies like no president, or person, ever has, so I'll grant you that. But he is just an egotistical, pompous, narcissistic piece of shit that mocks gold star families, war vets and KIAs. That makes him evil but that doesn't make him a dictator. Words matter. Truth matters. Let's not be like Trump where facts are fluid.
it seemed clear to me that Zeel did NOT actually mean Trump's a dictator NOW. Only that because he's a dictator wannabe at heart that he'd try to become one if elected. The post actually makes no sense at all unless you believe this.
I just personally think the talk of him being a dictator now or later is over the top but I cant say it's not a concern, it is, it's just not one that keeps me up at night. The odds of him becoming a dictator would be about 5% imo, but that's 5% bigger than it should be.
I was using dictator to describe his personality. It’s what he wants. He follows rules only to survive. His intentions and desires is to be under no one’s rule but his own. While he might not hold the political title, it still defines who he is IMO. And, therefore, appropriate.
And what other interpretation of his statement last night is even possible? As far as I'm concerned Trump said straight out that if he's elected again he'll change the rules so his Presidency becomes permanent. Could he do that? With this Supreme Court he might be able to. These words should convince us he'd certainly try.
So you’re suggesting I stick to is what you believe is true? Got it. Okay. I will pass. I said what I said because it is my truth. You are entitled to disagree but please don’t patronize me.
I disagreed with your factually inaccurate assessment. It's also not a question of "belief" at all. That isn't "patronizing"...it's called setting the record straight Zeel.
.
And there is no "my truth" or "your truth." There is only "The Truth." It is a fact that Trump currently, or when he was president, was NOT a dictator. It is not a question of opinion. If it is your opinion he will eventually become one, well that is conjecture, and you are entitled to that opinion as there is certainly some evidence that that prognostication could come to fruition.
1) He said it himself and then qualified as "only on Day 1." If you believe that qualification you are naive.
2) Just last night he said in a speech to a Christian group that his voters would only have to vote "once." Then he'd fix it so no more votes would be needed. What do you think he meant? Hint: not democracy.
3) Read the 2025 manifesto. He's running like hell from it and lying that he knows nothing about it. But here's what he said in 2022 about it at The Heritage Foundation, the group that's responsible for it:
"Trump also spoke highly about the group's plans at a dinner sponsored by the Heritage Foundation in April 2022, saying: “This is a great group, and they’re going to lay the groundwork and detail plans for exactly what our movement will do and what your movement will do when the American people give us a colossal mandate to save America.”
Reminds me of the old line: "Who are you going to believe? Me or your own eyes?"
And, imo, there is no way to know, fact certain, what is in his mind so of course it is conjecture. Trump is a blowhard, liar extraordinaire, gaslighter and provocateur. He says things to "own the libs." He loves his every utterance to be all over "fake news" so he can get his jollies. But do you REALLY believe he is setting up a dictatorship??? Honestly? I do not. I think what he is doing is putting the pieces in place so he more easily gets his far right extremist agenda into law.
.
You know I am a big Bill Maher fan. He is one of a dying bread that really does put country first and is very willing to call out stupid shit, from either side. I respect that. I agree with him probably 90% of the time. But he was wrong about his prediction about Trump never leaving the White House. When he lost to Joe (and yes Republicans, Trump REALLY did lose the 2020 election, cough cough) Trump exited the stage in the same time as every other president.
.
Now do I want my theory tested? Of course not. lol. Let's beat him at the ballot box so we don't even go down that path. I hear what you are saying, believe me I do...I just don't even think the wacky right would want him to be a dictator so it just won't happen. I have to concede though that you and Zeel could be right. No doubt about that. Thanks for your take.
Because Trump is famous for "saying the quiet part out loud." So when he says he wants to be a dictator only on Day One and (last night) that his voters will only have to vote for him one more time because then he'll "fix it," "Christians, get out and vote just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what? It will be fixed. It will be fine. You won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians."
I believe him. Hence the final quote in my last post.
I look on Jan. 6 as the dress rehearsal for the next time around if Trump wins.
Remember, he also has said:
“A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” he wrote. “Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!”
How much more do you need to pull the wool from your eyes?
You and I agree...almost always. We are in the same church on this one, just vastly separated pews. lol.
The world is not black and white and won’t always fit your need for absolutes. If we were to live with only and only truth, we wouldn’t take risks and use judgements. That wouldn’t be wise IMO. My truth is not based on absolutes like you might wish. My truth is a mix of facts and beliefs. In the end, I believe even those who try to avoid it, also mix in their beliefs. It’s virtually impossible to live a life like you’re Spock from Star Trek. In fiction, we can pretend to ignore signs and deny they impact our conclusions, but this is the real world. Sometimes you need to be confident with that which you cannot factually prove. When you take risks, you are sometimes right and sometimes wrong. You telling me my truth is not truth is just more patronizing.
It’s a fact that Trump is not now, nor has he ever been, a dictator. To not back down off that statement is incredibly delusional and obtuse.
And you triple down on patronizing me and still refuse to try to understand me. Good day.
Even the dictionary has more than one definition of dictator. You seem to feel it means one thing and one thing only, which is when it is the person in power over all in a country who runs it his way and listens to no one. Anyway, enjoy this from vocabulary.com:
Dictator can also describe someone who acts like that on a smaller scale. When your sister is getting married and your mom makes her order roses instead lilies for the table arrangements and yells at you for addressing the invitations too slowly and insists that all of her coworkers be invited, she’s acting like a dictator.
Definition: a person who behaves in a tyrannical manner
“my boss is a dictator who makes everyone work overtime”
Now keep telling me I am wrong to call Trump a dictator.
You called Trump a dictator the way someone at their job may use that term about a boss? lol. Now you are totally destroying your point and sound so silly and desperate. Look Zeel, if you want to twist yourself up like a pretzel to convince yourself Trump is a dictator, I cant stop you. lol. But your argument is without merit, without facts and without common sense.
I disagreed with your factually inaccurate assessment. It's also not a question of "belief" at all. That isn't "patronizing"...it's called setting the record straight Zeel.

And there is no "my truth" or "your truth." There is only "The Truth." It is a fact that Trump currently, or when he was president, was NOT a dictator. It is not a question of opinion. All ya’all need to quit with the fantastic wet dream of DJT becoming a dictator. The blue goo is staining your brains!
The truth? So you know all the real truth and never believe anything that isn’t 100% factually proven? Don’t answer because you know the answer is no and anything else would be horse shit. We all live our own truths. If we didn’t, then we’d be immobilized by the inability to have any clue what to do because we would be so caught up in the little we know about most things. If you believe in nothing, you might as well be nothing.
"Our own truths" sounds like her "alternative facts." She is a nut job Zeel! There is only ONE truth, and NOT multiple versions of it. Opinions, now they can have multiple sides of course, but not "truths." Don't talk like the Trumpers. It makes you sound unhinged and really undermines any point you are trying to make.
Robert you are usually reasonable and don’t resort to calling people things they are not. But this time you walked too far on the plank and decided you had to jump even though the signs are all there.
How could you know exactly what I mean? My original statement said Trump is a dictator. You, not me, decided that meant I was suggesting he ruled over the country already. I’m not so stupid to think he’s already in charge of the country. Even his dumb ass knows he is not. It may be what he wants, but not what he has got.
But I said it because that’s his behavior. Wherever he is in charge, he dictates. That makes his behavior that of a dictator. Watch his stupid reality TV show and you can see that. When he was President, he did that too. But he had some limits that make him slightly different than your typical political Dictator that runs a country with an iron fist. However, it’s these leaders he idolizes and wants to be like. Given the chance, he would go there. Sure, you can argue this point because it’s not true until he does it. But that doesn’t mean I can’t believe it will happen.
BULLSHIT!!!! If Harris wins, LostSon believes it will have been a "stolen election." In his mind, it will never be "The Truth." HIS truth will be that it was a stolen election. He has already said so:
"...the only way Harris wins is yet another stolen election."

LostSon wouldn't know "The Truth" if it slapped him in the face. HIS truth is whatever Trump tells him to think. He readily admits he will not accept the results of the election if Harris wins. No, that couldn't possibly be "The Truth" because LostSon knows "The Truth" three months before the election. ROFLMAO! "The Truth." What an idiot!
vote for HIM this time, you won't have to do it again in four years because he can't run again. When he says it will be fixed, it means the COUNTRY will be fixed. He has pledged to get rid of all of the problems Biden gave us. I thought that was pretty clear form the context he said this in. He is not going to raise an army of rednecks and take over the country. You can sleep tonight. It's okay. Lol
