I don't care where anyone is on the political spectrum, most people with eyes realize that the world of politics, political ideas, and political power manifests consequences in the real world.

Some people, such as myself, am involved in politics for defensive reasons. That is, in order to play a role in establishing governance that will essentially leave me alone. Others are involved for a variety of other reasons. But, in common, everyone involved knows that political decisions have consequences in the real world.

Now to answer your more esoteric questions.

Politicians are elected by those who vote. If you don't vote and sit down, my vote just counts more than it would have otherwise counted.

Yes, politicians can and in fact DO govern without consent of the people. The majority of people eligible to vote have not voted in a great many elections. And yes, things get done. What would happen? You see it before your eyes.

Politicians only care for themselves, the days of honest politician who cared for the country, people or cause ended when money and lobbyst entered the fray. Now we have corporations with that can contribute unlimited amount. What you think is going to happen?

There are no good or bad political parties, today, they are all bad with the two party system, pick your poison kind of thing. Until we have a society of independent thinkers that cannot be led by hate and mass hysteria, it will only get worse and the problems won't be solved.
