The US is already middle of the pack in HS education. We do have the world's best colleges/universities IMO, but it has become a business where the best cannot afford to attend. And those who do attend, they are getting degrees (non STEM) that are useless.

You're right. That's why I believe education and health care are rights, not a privilege- if we are to live in a high function society, But this is not the criminals of the status quo want. Dumbed down and control, is the name of their game. There is no way education and health care should be that expensive, given the amount of taxes we pay. And to make matters worse, they have no interest in even cutting military waste. That alone could save billions, If it wasn't to State colleges/universities, many of us could not afford higher education. Now they want to put even more pressure on the state education system in order to raise their affordability, and push us into a dilemma where State education cost is just as high as the private. So we are paying high taxes with any compensation. And the further dumbing down of America continues.
