It seems that in order to get the message across that McDonalds is an "ecologically correct" company, they are changing the "golden arches" to green in their European operations.  

Don't know if they have plans to eventually do that in the U.S., but it begs the question, "Who gives a fuck"?

Believe it or not, their basic hamburger is not too bad nutritionally... 268 colories of which 88 are fat (10 grams, 15% Daily Value), so it falls within the guidelines of keeping your fat intake to 30% or less, (it does have 1 gram of transfat though), 13 grams of protein, which is good, and sodium is 532 mg (22% of suggested daily intake), which for a prepared food isn't bad at all; most canned soups have close to twice that. 28 mg of cholesterol (9% Daily Value) and 32 grams of carbohydrate (11% Daily Value).

All in all, a lunch at McDonalds consisting of a salad with non-fat dressing, two hamburgers and a diet soda is a pretty healthy and balanced lunch and would be under 600 calories.  On the other hand, ONE Burger King Steakhouse Burger has 960 calories, 59 GRAMS OF FAT (531 CALORIES, 55% of total calories) and 1950 MGs OF SODIUM (81% Daily Value)!!!

Most all fast food joints have healthy choices on their menus... it's just that Americans choose the wrong items, and eat too much of them.

McDonald's is not "intentionally poisoning" people... they're giving people what they want... in fact, they do intense market research, at great expense, to determine what people want - It's not McDonald's fault if people want what's not good for them.

To say that McDonald's is poisoning people you'd also have to say that so is Ben and Jerry's, Haagan Das, Keller's and Land O' Lakes Butter, any manufacturer of cured meats, cheeses and sausages, and EVERY fast food chain.

I've always said that if God DOES exist, he has one hell of a sense of humor, because it can't be a coincidence that EVERYTHING that tastes good is bad for you, and everything that tastes like shit is good for you.

Yes, I saw it and it was definitely an eye-opener, but he could have made that movie using just about any fast food chain, or even if he just used prepared and/or deli-made foods from any supermarket chain.

Life's a matter of choices; as I pointed out, if Sperling had eaten a salad with non-fat dressing, two hamburgers and a diet soda for lunch from McDonald's each day, he would have been fine.

The movie would have been pointless if he had chosen the right foods from McDonalds; salads, hamburgers, the apples and grape package.  He chose bad menu choices and used arbitrary rules, such as super-sizing his selection if the cashier asked him if he wanted it super-sized.

I'm not saying that the film didn't have merit and didn't make a good point, but it had an agenda going in.
