How fucking stupid are these boneheads? Do they actually believe the stupid shit they parrot? Do they actually believe the ignorant shit they hear fromn Rush, Man Coulter, O'Reilly et al?
I mean, just how fucking stupid can people be?
Idiots!
It's the same old arguments over and over and over again. Al Gore is an idiot therefore we shouldn't listen to anything he has to say. Global warming is fiction being perpetrated by liberals because...? Because why? I have no idea.
I have no idea what the right wingers believe is our secret agenda for claiming global warming is caused by man. 98% of those who study the issue say that we are responsible for the warming trend and that we are in serious trouble if we don't reverse it.
Naysayers seize on the little tiny shred offered by the 2 experts on the planet who think global warming is bullshit, and cite it as conclusive fact. Two little tidbits to support their wayward and misguided beliefs. It reminds me of the type of guy who has delusional thoughts of getting his girlfriend back because he happened to run into her one day at a diner. "See! She's here. She's must be following me and she misses me. She wants me back!"
The guy seizes on this one random event and is convinced she wants him back. Despite the fact that she: 1) got a restraining order against him; 2) took a sledgehammer to his car; and 3) made a bonfire out of all his clothes. He takes this one piece of information and builds an entire fantasy around it rather than taking a cold hard look at the reality of the situation.
What's next? "If global warming were real, my girlfriend wouldn't be so frigid."

Global warming is a scam. The demoncraps are using 'global warming' as a pretext for a monster power grab. Take away all our economic freedom under the pretext of global warming.
Ha ha ha--- I have an idea!!! All you demoncraps do you duty by not flushing your toilet except for once a week and don't get to take no shower except for once a week neither!!!!! Aaaaah- hahaha. I'm in the process of getting my bathroom remodeled but I'm gonna keep my old shitter cause it's not one of those new mandated 1.8 gallon flushers.
On a serious note. You can't worry about global warming CAUSE WE CAN'T DO NOTHING ABOUT IT.
you can take it from me. It's the solar index--SUN SPOTS-- Humans can't control the sun spots on the sun and they're what's causing climate change.
Oh, by the way, I finally got me a new computer after fighting and losing the battle w/my old gateway. If anyone is still using WINDOWs98, take it from me---GET RID OF THAT OLD RELIC AND GET A NEW COMPUTER. It's worth it.
Well are you doing your part or are you just preaching like Gore while abusing the planet..Have you cancelled your newpaper and magazine subscriptions or do you just want everyone else to make sacrifices while you blindly follow the 98% of the money trail???..
Do you and Puck live on the same ranch and have the NY Times delivered by the Donkey Express ??What don't you understand about most people who read opposite Coast newspapers receive it the same day as the other coast..For someone who is supposedly educated it sure is hard for you to grasp the obvious.. But then again they don't teach common sense in any school ..Either you have it or you don't.....

Obviously you haven't bothered to learn about the issue.
Al Gore isn't an idiot, but he did get through college without taking a single science course, which qualifies him how to tell the rest of us what science means?
He's figured out a scam to make money off suckers who fall for his bullshit. I'd say more power to him, if it weren't for you true believers trying to make us heathens bow down to your religion and put money in as Al passes the plate. Don't force your religion on the rest of us.

course he got C's and D's in them, but hey? being vice president, inventor of the internet, and world supremo Climatologist? hey.... well, its not rocket science - right?
Bwahahahaha! What a murune.
Spreading a lie wrapped in a joke, are you? It's one reason I don't have too much trust in what you say, and what conservatives say about Al Gore.
In fact, he was presented a Webby Award in 2005 for lifetime achievement "in recognition of the pivotal role he has played in the development of the internet over the past three decades." The man who presented the award, Vint Cerf, is credited as being one of the inventors of the internet.
Here's Gore's actual quote: "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system."
He didn't say he created it. He didn't even imply it. Your head is infested with memes.
How fucking stupid are these boneheads? Do they actually believe the stupid shit they parrot? Do they actually believe the ignorant shit they hear fromn Rush, Man Coulter, O'Reilly et al?
I mean, just how fucking stupid can people be?
Idiots!
Not nearly as stupid as you puke. Go give Al Franken a donation, roflmao at what a true ass clown you must be.
I just read the quote that the other bonehead - you know Mr. personality - al gore said.... what he actually said... that's all. So if someone is stupid? is it me - who heard it... or he who actually said it?
what gets your goat is that you know what he said. You know it was a bonehead statement... but yet you defend the dunderhead. why not just say "he misspoke" and get on with life.
as on 9 March 1999 in an interview with Wolf Blitzer he stated "....During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet." That is, he lead the group that created the internet! lol!
Dude... "The first recorded description of the social interactions that could be enabled through networking was a series of memos written by J.C.R. Licklider of MIT in August 1962 discussing his "Galactic Network" concept. He envisioned a globally interconnected set of computers through which everyone could quickly access data and programs from any site. In spirit, the concept was very much like the Internet of today. Licklider was the first head of the computer research program at DARPA, 4 starting in October 1962. While at DARPA he convinced his successors at DARPA, Ivan Sutherland, Bob Taylor, and MIT researcher Lawrence G. Roberts, of the importance of this networking concept."
so in 1962 WHERE was FREAKY GORE!? in 1962 he was what 14 yrs old... oh, i get it he was working in his basement! all the while... just like Bill Gates or Steven Jobs.... yea, thats right... workin in the basement
Seriously, Gore misspoke. he did NOT take the initiative in creating the internet. It existed already. He did lead the senate in pushing through legislation to fund an expansion of the existing network.
Get over yourselves... the guy exaggerates fact... or most often - fabricates "fact" from the musings of his mind.
The Washington Post published both Als and Georges transcripts back in 2000. Al took an ecology course, science only if your a football player or someone with parents political connections that mean you never have to get a job. What info do you have that he took a real (e.g. laboratory) science course?
-- Modified on 11/24/2007 2:30:48 PM
courses, he received C's etc. No, no real lab courses... like quant analysis, or p chem, or organic chem or anatomy or physics... etc.
but then again, I would have been satisfied if he had had a real economics course - where calculus comes into play... but nada there also...
It's best to leave it fallow for the time being.
From Wikipedia
The Internet was invented by the US Department of Defence as a means of communication if we were attacked by Russia. That was in 1969. The WWW on the other hand was invented by an Englishman called Tim Berners-Lee in Switzerland in 1989. The Internet dates back to the 1950s and 60s, although few of us knew of it then as it was part of the American defence system.
Some say development started in 1957 when the Soviet Union launched Sputnik 1, the first satellite.
I think it's the difference between pop culture and invention that confuses people. The origins of the Internet stretch back to the 1950s and the invention of the World Wide Web to 1989, but the Internet IS a newish innovation as far as pop culture is concerned as it only really kicked into the lives of the vast majority of us after the 1989 invention of WWW.
DARPA was created in 1958. But this only started the research that led to create the Internet. The Network Control Protocol (NCP) was finalized and deployed in December 1970 by the Network Working Group (NWG), led by Steve Crocker. But it was not until RFC 768 "User Datagram Protocol", RFC 791 "Internet Protocol", RFC 792 "Internet Control Message Protocol, RFC 793 "Transmission Control Protocol" were ratified in 1980 and 1981 that the Internet took shape. Modern protocols like e-mail, ftp, telnet, http ... all depend on these underlying protocols. The ARPANET host protocol was switched from NCP to TCP/IP as of January 1, 1983. The underlying protocols that run the Internet have fundamentally changed since this date. Much later on Mar. 11, 1999 Al Gore claims to have invented the Internet: "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet." References: http://www.isoc.org/internet/history/brief.shtml
In summary Al gore is a egotistical wodden dummy bone head with a vast following of empty minded cheerleaders.
How about something a little more permanent that Wiki? It's a decent resource oftentimes, but it is subject to manipulation.
In part: "The "Al Gore said he 'invented' the Internet" put-downs were misleading, out-of-context distortions"
Idiot.

"Created" the internet..... what hogwash.
Context counts, witling.
I did not. What is fascinating about this is that his exaggeration of his importance is in contrast to true leaders - those who OTHERS point to and say he did this. Gore is most often out in front telling others what "he did" and THEN others say, yea, he did that... after they have been hammered into saying how great he is.
Context helps? uh? Actually I DID read the rest of the beginning of his bid for the presidency (which is what the piece with Wolf B was). There is NO - read zero qualification to his assertion.... there is NO read Zero credit to the existing Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (or Arpanet) program and the file transmission protocols that it used... Zero...
Nor were they references to other senators who supported the bill.....
Get of the frickin band wagon... and listen to the music for a moment - you may not like the lyrics....

Compare & contrast: Bizarro Superdude: Victim of alien lobotomy at unknown date and place. Alien may have been mother attempting to infiltrate earthlings with, well, something.
A idiot would not have the thought process to blindly follow the Charlatans like you do so well. I think you are just a simple minded moron..
In case you don't know what I mean by moron. ..Think of a young child that is also as easily led as you.
I'm not talking about technically the invention of the internet; I'm talking about the funding for those innovations, and what brought it from DARPA to a public network. So, with all the background you gave, you missed the point.
Gore was literally giving his resume. How does he explain what he did with legislation in so many words? I've never heard that debated. That's something that Republicans never brought up.
I thought the rest of his statement sounded the goofiest, and I'm a bit surprised that didn't become the point of attack. He took the initiative on initiatives? Only in the Senate. Funny. George Bush is the Decider. Gore is the Initiator.
Feeling some collateral damage when I use the word "idiot?" To me, somebody is an idiot when he doesn't seem to read one message back. Another word might be "manipulative," but that depends on motivation.
that would make Eisenhower the one who "took the initiative in creating the internet" right?
Except he couldn't see what it turned into. Really, if you thought that Al Gore was referring to anything but funding the transition of DARPA into the internet, you're either just in a Gore nitpicking and disinformation club, or . . . you're an idiot. Though probably a useful one. Is it that you can't figure this out? As a Senator, there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING else Gore could have been referring to.
In my mind, it's distortions like these that give conservatives slight credibility about Gore. Look, did Al Gore, the Senator, initiate the funding for the transition of DARPA into the Internet? If he didn't, then you have him: he's a liar. I've never heard conservatives address that-- in other words, address the statement the way it was meant. They kept it dumbed down, the way propaganda must be.
What gets to me is that while conservatives jumped all over this purported lie, they voted for Inspector George Clouseau, who they presumed was too dumb and inarticulate to lie. Someone unlike Clinton who didn't threaten their intelligence.
and quite frankly Gore uses the tool poorly... I really do not wish him wielding words when it comes to international treaties. He does not think it through...
But then again neither does GW. sheese.... mission accomplished - how absolutely dumb can you get...? well? Gore's statements are very close.
Oh yeah - there is very little difference between his awkward wording about his contributions to the creation of the Internet and "Bring It On."
