They have tried to keep taxes low by not spending on infrastructure. But watch them blame everyone else. I saw a very telling shot today of a road in Texarkana where half of it's in Texas and half is in Arkansas. The half that's in Texas was snow-covered and unplowed. The half that's in Arkansas was plowed to the blacktop. And the lights were on. Because that state is part of a national grid. Texas is a failure, but now watch them blame immigrants, people from California or just about anyone but themselves.
All while screaming for aid from the socialist Federal government.

Regarding Arkansas vs. Texas - I was talking to a friend - who is with Walmart, Bentonville, a life long republican and had earful to say about the republican governor and the administration of Texas. Some Republicans (old school) are really sick of this lying culture and trumpification of GOP.
But the sad thing is they are in a real minority within GOP.

So, no, "millions of New Yorkers" didn't just flood into Florida to flee New York. They've gone there every fucking year since the late '40s. Not to mention many own property there and spend TONS of money there. So Florida is very happy to have them.  Actually, they have no reason to flee NY because the rest of the year it's lovely.
