Texas governor just announced just short of shelter in place ...
Say “safest place is at home as new cases surge” .... some sense getting into his head!
The problem is people are not behaving sensibly; going to bars, not social distancing and not wearing masks. I don't think people need to stay home as long as they do those simple things.
Nick and go all in, in cash. The DOW will be back at 19,000 by winter. Remember this post, I will.
When the Dow got back up around 27,000 I felt the markets were over-extended. I was about to sell but then the 1,800-point crash happened. When it recovered a few days later I pulled the trigger and reduced my exposure in equities by about ten percent. I'll sit on that cash until the Dow re-tests the lows, or until there's more progress on a vaccine. But I don't agree all-cash is the way to go. I'll keep some in equities.
those rare opportunities of a lifetime.
I decided if was the same kind of buying opportunity and bought. Now the markets are over-bought so I sold. It's not complicated.
I also sold a bit in January at the high but that was dumb luck. It's been a good year.
Which only proves you are a Monday morning quarterback, just like your hero LTM&L.
"Right now I am straddled the market" is just a chickenshit way of saying "I don't have a fucking clue what's going to happen next"
It is not a Monday morning quarterbacking! I haven’t closed my positions...
Your oil pimping desperate ass may not understand this!
You wanna make some money? Just straddle the market today! Put same amount of money in both directions! Then close positions only when they are in the money!!
And, the goal is to make money and not win arguments here!
You Moron of the Month!!!
But with all this cheap money floating around and no other place to put it, with more stimulus money to come I wouldn't bet the house against this market just yet. Of course you did say "winter" which means after the election, if Dementia Joe wins, than yes the market could easily retest it's lows again. lol
To be honest it's the oil markets that have me a bit befuddled, there is no reason for oil to be all the way back to $40 this soon. Of course even at $40 it's going to kill all the so called frackers in the Permian, ND and virtually every other shale play. Cap Ex budgets have already been slashed by Billions and I don't see anyone rushing back to drill wells that need $60 oil in order to make any money, this of course means another boom cycle somewhere in the next few years as demand comes back and supply is constricted because our producers couldn't afford to keep doing during this period of low prices. Come to think of it, maybe I will "vote my wallet" and vote for Joe Biden. He will almost undoubtedly cave to the radical left and put so many restrictions on domestic producers that they will NEVER be able to come back which in turn will drive prices back through the roof when demand comes back.
We have gone from only two people hospitalized last week all the way up to THREE people in the hospital with COVID yesterday a WHOPPING fifty percent increase just over last weekend.
Yes, figures don't lie, but liars certainly do figure.
Sorry guys, but I am not losing any sleep over this just yet. Yes, we do have well over a hundred current cases of COVID, but only three cases severe to warrant hospitalizations.
the Grand Marshall of the Militant Dimwits of the US. Here are the actual facts on what's going on in the rest of the world where COVID is exploding. From your favorite paper, The Washington Post. But you can find the same statistics elsewhere because, well, they are just these things called "facts."
"Seven states are reporting new highs for current coronavirus hospitalizations, according to data tracked by The Washington Post — Arizona, Arkansas, California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas — as the number of infections continues to climb across the South and West. More than 800 covid-19 deaths were reported in the United States on Tuesday, the first time fatalities have increased since June 7.
Texas and California on Tuesday eclipsed 5,000 new cases of the novel coronavirus over a 24-hour span — records in those states. Arizona, Nevada and Missouri also logged new single-day highs. Overall, 33 states and U.S. territories now have a rolling average of new cases that is higher than last week.
Worldwide, there are more than 9 million confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, with more than 2.3 million cases and at least 119,000 deaths reported in the United States.
Here are some significant developments:
Top federal health officials warned Tuesday that the surge in infections in more than a dozen states could worsen without new restrictions. They also contradicted President Trump’s recent claims that he told officials to slow testing so the country would record fewer cases.
The federal government plans to end support of testing sites on June 30, including seven sites in Texas, where cases and hospitalizations are climbing rapidly."
You really do have a toxic level of stupidity.
