Can the United States and our allies launch a massive embargo against Russia?

I am asking because this is above my pay grade. I know there would be a lot of pain, but what if we cut off Russia totally? IOW, we turn there ships around and don't accept any of their exports and we don't ship them a damn thing either.  
Could this work? It seems Russia needs the rest of the world more than we need them. Other than energy (and I don't want to underestimate that) they really don't offer anything the world greatly needs, but Russia has to import food and many other necessary items to keep them a functioning state.
So is this a realistic next step or is my idea fatally flawed?

to get ready for even higher fuel prices.  Would somebody please tell Biden where all of the American fuel deposits are so he can tap those like Trump did to hold down Global oil prices.  It HAS to be a case where Biden just doesn't know where the oil is.  If he did, why wouldn't he just release some reserves like Trump did to stabilize prices?  It's not rocket science, it's just "follow the leader."  Trump had it wired.  Just do what he did.

After all of the green energy start-ups that he threw billions of taxpayer dollars at folded, prices started to go up, but Trump got them back under control after he was elected.  Do I need to provide you a price chart  from 2015-16, or you think you can handle it on your own?

that Trump got energy prices back under control after they got out of hand under Obama.  Now Biden is fucking up gas prices as well with his hair-brained policies.  (I use the term "hair-brained") because I blame the plugs being put into his scalp too deeply and destroying his brain cells.  This is a good reason not to elect any old guys with hair plugs.)

A President has no control over gas prices and you know it. That's why I gave Obama no credit for making us self-sufficient in oil production because he had nothing to do with it. It simply happened on his watch. Just like prices simply happened to drop on Trump's.

Russia exports more than wheat, oil and gas and in some markets (aluminum for example), they are integral to the functioning of a world wide market. One reason aluminum  isn’t included in first round of sanctions is they tried it in the past, and Western European smelters downstream from Russian supply had to shut down. A very complicated process.

But that would be a last resort to say turn away Russia ships, kick out the Russian hockey players in the NHL,..lol. But all in all...Russia's major client is China. But you have to crumble the ruble, freeze accounts and seize the properties of the oligarchs. They'll go to court and blah,blah,blah but considered the property a "National Security Risk".
The Russian people have been know to form bread lines....and they'll have the wheat so....
