Super Bowl Halftime

Debated putting this on the sports section but it's political so I'll drop it here lol. Like many I'm looking forward to a good game Sunday.. Just curious if anyone on here actually cares enough to turn on turning point USA's alternative halftime show... Now I'll admit personally my proclivities lean a little bit more to the left (although they are mixed enough that both parties take turns disappointing me) but I honestly cannot fathom that anyone gives enough of a damn to turn off the superbowl, go to wherever the fuck this other halftime show is playing and turn it on... out of protest for a musician's politics. Maybe I'm out of touch but this seems fairly trivial to me. But again, unlike most people today I love hearing opposing viewpoints so feel free to chime in lol...

I could care less about the half time show.    If it is entertaining good.... if it is not no skin off my back.

the politics of it is what is dumb..... play the show to entertain.  You are an entertainer not an activist.   If you are an activist then SHAME on the NLF for putting you on the halftime show.

Now with the "alternative" show.... again  WHO CARES.     Again.... they are meant to entertain not give political views.

IF you're saying you don't want the, to talk politics at the performance I agree.. but if you have an issue with performers speaking on their beliefs in general I don't. There should be stronger tolerance for political discourse. I've been told many times my self just to stick to sucking dick... and I find that pretty reductive. Should accountants just talk about taxes? Should doctors just stick to medicine? We should all participate in the political process how we see fit and it shouldn't upset anyone if the entertainer expresses political beliefs. What does bother me is if they express it at the actual event... that's just stupid. But whatever anyone wants to come out for or against in any other settings doesn't really bother me. I just find the whole entertainers should never speak on politics outrage to be highly selective and unfair. Americans are allowed to express their beliefs and shouldn't lose out on performances because they have criticized the admin.. Both sides seem to love getting upset at someone being platformed when they express beliefs they disagree with and its pretty pathetic tbh.

I agree with you and that is my point......Entertainers should have a political opinion.    The issue I have is when they share it while performing.   People don't come to listen to your politics.  They come to listen to your music or perform.

Entertainers shouldn't talk politics unless asked or while not performing.    Just like an accountant shouldn't bring up politics in the middle of an appointment out of the blue.     Remember that entertainers are getting paid to entertain.... half the people might not want to hear about politics.    Just like going to a meeting with an accountant you don't want them to go off on politics when you didn't ask.   you don't want your server at a restaurant to go off on politics while they are serving you your meal.    People are getting paid for a service not your opinion.   If they ask your opinion OR you are not getting paid.... give your opinion freely.    I hope people see the distinction.

People still watch American Football?

Such a dated, slow and lame sport.

NFL broadcasts are overwhelmingly popular, dominating US television with record-setting viewership. The 2025 regular season averaged 18.7 million viewers. NFL games accounted for 72 of the top 100 most-watched US TV broadcasts in 2024. Not to mention the NFL is increasingly popular in Europe and Mexico. Get it now?
Probably not, since you clearly hang out with this guy....

Lol I'm from Jamaica and know little to nothing about it but my whole family is making a big deal.

Why is there a problem?

Because he sings in Spanish? He just won a Grammy for an entire album sung in Spanish. He’s a US Citizen born in Puerto Rico. 🇵🇷 He supports the LGBTQ 🏳️‍🌈 this is the controversy.  Let’s be clear this man identifies with being Heterosexual.

America 🇺🇸 is racist and the USA was born from colonization. Taking what does not belong to them. After English, Spanish is the most spoken language in the United States The majority of the USA. Latinos deserve respect. ✊🏽 Look at History…

During the 1930s Great Depression, the U.S. government and local authorities forcibly removed approximately 1.8 to 2 million people of Mexican descent to Mexico in a campaign known as "Mexican Repatriation". Roughly 60% of those deported were U.S. citizens by birth, marking an unconstitutional, race-based expulsion.

Yo soy Latina! I don’t speak Spanish. 😊 I am Mexican-American.

In case you are not too familiar with actual history, the us paid for most of this land. Especially the southwest.

The more you know...

to super bowl half time show.

Too busy getting (taking a leak)  then get some food, refilling the glass with drink and
Talking about the first half. While the guys and myself are not pro players, coaches or assistant coaches or the like we all have opinions of what went wrong, what each team should have done, what they did that they should not have done and what they need to do in the second half. Then get another sandwich refill again the glass and by then it is time for the second half kickoff.

BTW who did you say is the half time entertainment this year?

It wasn't political, it was just because the halftime shows had become so lame. It was the funniest 30 minutes and a great way to eat, drink and get ready for the second half

I thought he had a unifying message. Wasnt the anti america show quite a few were painting it out to be.

My fellow black brothers and sisters certainly did not care for it at least not my people.

Sweetheart 2,

I am not going to assume that you're Black because you have Black brothers and sisters. Also, I'm not going to assume that when you said "my people," you were referring to the entire diaspora of Black people. Maybe you meant your underlings? I dunno. Because SURELY you have not proclaimed yourself the voice of the entire Black community.

I'm biting my tongue and holding so much rage back... Originally, I wasn't going to respond OR I was gonna post "Too stupid to reply to". But the rage took over...

I'm just gonna post this Forbes article and let people make up their own minds. Btw, I don't expect you to read it. Again, it's for everyone else. But the message of the show was that love trumps hate -- every time. So, again, I love you, and I wish you the best.

Oh no! It's time for you to be enjoying your fictitious date. Can you please review it?

Thanks and Love,
Katie

....I cannot contain myself.   Hard not to notice her use LATINX in her article.  Even I know that the activist-created term is hated among many in the Hispanic community.  Actually disliked by 75% of Hispanics but still used anyhow by elite academia and some of the alphabet groups.  Go figure....I guess it's not a surprise that the cheeky little cosplaying gaysian reporter used the term.

Latinx is used by those that are reading the room wrong.

Latinos are a masculine culture that generally dont want anything to do with lgbtqrst culture

So now you speak for all Black people AND Hispanic people? And you know how to write better than Forbes? Ok. Too stupid to reply to.

No, I'm mocking queer, woke activists who think Hispanics are too stupid to take the initiative to create their own progressive labels and names so they do it for them....you know, like white liberals do for Blacks.

As stated numerous times I spend a great deal of time in SW Texas and if you think you're going to get away with telling the locals that they're to call themselves Latinx...well, good luck.  Same folks that have lived there for generations and their ancestors suffered under and fought against Santa Anna because they enjoyed the freedom of local governance vs a central power.

So, this Norwegian from N. Minnesota apparently DOES have more awareness of what life is like outside of the rainbow bubble than this little activist journo.  Yes, I could write better than she could about what some folks think about this rabbit fella.

Im in east la and any latino over 35 or under 22 isnt feeling the latinx. Its just an odd brainwashed group between those ages that is ok with it.

I'm sure one of the gals should be swinging by shortly to take you to task for that follow up.  You don't follow the agenda very well.

Personally, I'm looking forward to hearing queenie's further condemnation of our country as a rascist cesspool and when the other one unclenches her jaw and let's loose that "rage" she was holding.. oooooo, got me doing some shakin' in my boots!

Not sure whats got your fat ass cackling over here

Can you even afford to live in east la? Serious question.
