At least the destruction of the East Wing and the construction of the Golden Ballroom are supposed to be all funded by private donations. Not so for the Arc de Trump.
-quoting-
Washington — American taxpayers will help fund the construction of President Trump's planned triumphal arch in Arlington, Virginia, according to the spending plan for the National Endowment for the Humanities released by the administration this week.'
.
When CBS News' Ed O'Keefe asked the president in October whom the arch is for, he responded, "Me. Going to be beautiful." After the president said the arch was for him, some nicknamed it the "Arc de Trump."

I will NEVER call it the Arc de Trump. See, I've been on tours of Paris and Rome. I've seen the Arc de Triomphe and the Arch of Constantine. One thing that I learned is that they were BOTH built after victories. Where's the victory here? What's he gonna put on it? Also, France and Italy revere these architectural gems! They take pride in them. I doubt we'll ever take pride in this Arch.

Also, ultimately, it doesn't end well. Napoleon ended up exiled (Trump's most likely fate). Then Rome fell to a namesake of Constantine (it took 1000 years but the prophecy WAS fulfilled...) So.... Bad juju all around!

This does actually prove the point of having a big event center at the white house to hold these types of functions.

1.  Don't have to vet all of a hotel's staff.
2.  Don't have to worry about guests at a hotel
3.  Don't have to worry about bringing in extra security or security training of an off-premise establishment, training the security of these other event places, etc.
4.  Don't have to spend time scouting, preparing, staging, etc. of security services (Granted what happen shows you piss poor scouting/preparing)

etc.

I’m not aware of any regulation that would prevent the WHCD from being held in the White House Ballroom. It is technically a private event, so it’s possible there is.

That said, you can’t argue that security at the White House ballroom wouldn’t be better than security at the Washington Hilton.

Consider The staffing / security,  will they be permanent hires? On call 365/24/7 Think overhead and turnover
The shooter really didn’t come close to the main ballroom. Secret service did their job. And if anyone had  a plan and with patience, they  could get to anybody.

High profile events are held there all the time. And there was no failure of security or the site itself in the recent incident. The shooter was caught before he even got onto the same floor as where the event was being held.
Reagan was shot there many years ago but he wasn't even in the hotel when it happened.

The biggest issue I’ve heard discussed by security experts on the news channel is over 500 rooms sitting atop the venue. It would be a logistical and administrative challenge to vet all those guests. The Secret Service is catching flack for allowing the President to even be there. One security consultant pointed out that security wasn’t posted up in all the stairwells. Maybe if they had, the guy wouldn’t have made it to and through the screening area.

This Saddam Hussein vanity type ballroom will be attached to the WH where cars can just plow through. They won't reach the main entrance, same as that assassin but there will ne noise ..And by the way, how's traffic on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue??
But it seems now that this is getting traction in Republicans circles so I hope they run on this....So lets review...Congress allocate $400M, trump keeps donors money from this ballroom....this is lovely....yeah...run on it

The WHCD has been held at the Hilton for 50 years.  If trump's vanity project ballroom is ever finished why would WHCD be held there?  The Hilton's ballroom has a capacity of 2500 vs the 950-1000 or so at don's gold fetish room.  Again, no real reason for the WHCD to consider changing venues to that place.  The Hilton is considered the most secure hotel in the area.  trump announces after the shooting that the hotel is not very secure hence the NEED for this ballroom?  Give me a break.

Suddenly, all these GOPers pull their heads out of trump's ass long enough to tout the ballroom.  Pathetic.  It won't enhance my life just like renaming the Gulf of Mexico didn't do a dang thing for me.  Going further what does trump's fucking face on passports do for anyone?  Finally, I don't want any legal tender with trump's drawing of a signature on it.

And, why is trump talking about rescheduling the dinner like he has anything to do with it?  It should be within 30 days.  It'll be bigger, better, nicer, etc?  He's an invited guest.  That's all.

You don't think that the WH or Fed spent money on security, vetting workers, etc.     They do this for anything that a president goes to.     The money spent on appearances by presidents is crazy.

I have seen where they "closed" down an interstate.    What I mean is they had troopers, sherifs, state/county trucks/equipment blocking on/off ramps and U turn spots.   FOR 70 miles.   When Clinton went from 1 town to another VIA motorcade.    Then when talking with people who worked those trucks.   They had to get vetted prior to working.  Then the "training" of what to look for and how to actually PARK the trucks.   Yeah... this is when Slick Willy went from Rochester MN to La Crosse WI.

Now with a ballroom "On Campus"..... you don't have to vet or train security.    You do need to vet anyone outside catering/entertainment.    But you don't have to worry about the security set up and force.    You won't have to re-install cameras.

Besides, Trump has a resource that Biden didn't have (J.D. Vance).  Biden was stuck with Kamala, a diversity hire who lived DOWN to everyone's expectations.  If he wanted to go light on experience in favor of "it has to be a black woman," why not pick Whoopi Goldberg, or Oprah, they're both articulate and can think on their feet.  We wouldn't have had four years of word salad leaving most Americans scratching their heads.  No, he had to pick the only black woman in politics who was dumber than Maxine Waters and Jasmine Crocket.  This is one reason why DEI died so quickly after Trump took over.

that a Brigadier General is just one step above a Colonel, and the fact that he's retired at that rank shows his career wasn't going anywhere?  In fact, he may have been forced out for failure to move up the ranks based on his performance.  Above this rank, there are three more general officers, Major General, Lt. General and General, which are two, three and four stars, respectively.  (Of course, BigP or Nicky will Google and find out there is a PROVISION for a five-star General, but there haven't been any since the last one, Omar Bradley, passed away in the early 80's.)   These are the experts that Fox News gets. It doesn't surprise me that the only General that CNN can find as an "expert" is a Brigadier.  The top generals will not opine falsely on news programs.  As you might imagine, it's a reputational issue that some flag officers take seriously.  If your source really believes what he said on CNN, it's no wonder he's out as a Brigadier.  Lol

Other than the cred of this lowly Brigadier being in question, the rest of your post is pure speculation, including your claim that I have "black woman outrage", whatever that is. Sounds like another false label made up by Dems.  Maybe you even made it up.  Do you have link to anyone political using this term in a context that we can understand what it allegedly means, or are you grasping at straws again with the personal attacks because your arguments are so fucking weak.  Classic Happy. It’s telling that BigP lacks the intelligence and class to recognize it as such. He prefers to take the playground route and try to insist the only acceptable verbiage for acknowledgement of errors in to lay prostrate and “take the L”. Intelligent debaters prefer to just acknowledge the error and then move the conversation along.
