Republicans for Nader?

Just wondering how many Republicans out there might be (like
myself) strongly considering voting for Ralph Nader. While I
strongly disagree with him on "social" issues like entitlement
programs (welfare & such, state run health care), the death
penalty, and affirmative action, he is the only candidate speaking out against Global free trade and outsourcing of tech jobs to foreign interests. He actually agrees with Pat Buchanan
on many economic issues.

I will definitely NOT be voting for G. Bush, so it will be either
Nader or the Libertarian candidate for me. How about you guys?

By the way, my idea of the perfect candidate would be a modified
Pat Buchanan. That is to say, a pro-abortion, pro-prositution,
pro-pornagraphy Pat (Pat without the religious hangups).

Ralph Nader Calls Israel a "Puppeteer"
12:30 Jun 30, '04 / 11 Tammuz 5764

(IsraelNN.com) On Tuesday, as broadcast on the American cable network C-Span, independent presidential candidate and environmental crusader Ralph Nader said the following:

"What has been happening over the years is a predictable routine of foreign visitation from the head of the Israeli government. The Israeli puppeteer travels to Washington. The Israeli puppeteer meets with the puppet in the White House, and then moves down Pennsylvania Avenue, and meets with the puppets in Congress. And then takes back billions of taxpayer dollars. It is time for the Washington puppet show to be replaced by the Washington peace show."

With comments like this, he will never be elected....I commend him for having the balls to make his feelings public. While I agree with his comments, I won't be voting for him.

Finding Republican's for Nader is about the same level of difficulity as finding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, namely pretty much impossible..

I suspect Republicans for Nader is nothing more than Bush-voting Republicans who are trying to draw Kerry voters away from Kerry.  Two Republican groups in Oregon have already come under fire for their efforts to get Nader on the ballot in Oregon.

This smacks of desparation on the part of the GOP.

Uh, dude-  Pat Buchanon IS the anti abortion man.  You can't seperate him from his hang-ups!

I know you can't separate him from the hangups, I'm just
saying it would be great if it were possible. Aside from
the puritanical stuff, he has many terrific ideas.

For the record, I am not pro-abortion because I care about
a woman's right to choose (I couldn't care less actually).
Rather, I look at it this way: I'd rather spend $500 one
time only than $2000/month for the next 18 years of my life!

========================================
International Trade :
=====================
John Kerry believes that American workers can compete and win with workers anywhere in the world if they have the skills and training they need and the level playing field they deserve.  He will put in a place a series of incentives to keep manufacturing jobs in the United States and he will ensure that our trading partners play by the rules.  He will invest in 21st century manufacturing – in creating the industries and jobs of the future.   And if we’re going to build the jobs of the future, we need to make sure our workers are trained and ready to do them.  John Kerry will make sure America has a cutting edge workforce by helping manufacturing workers with grants to upgrade their skills and by making higher education affordable for every American.

Priorities =
Strong Enforceable Trade That Works for America
------------------------------------------------
- Assure Trading Partners Play by the Rules.
- Stop Countries from Manipulating Currency.
- Enforce and Strengthen Intellectual Property Protections.
- Break Down Barriers in Key Export Markets.
- Review Existing Trade Agreements.

Encourage Manufacturers to Stay in the U.S. and to Create New Jobs
-------------------------------------------------------------
- Stop Incentives to Move American Jobs Abroad.
- Give Tax Breaks to Manufacturers in America.
- A New Manufacturing Jobs Credit.
- Double the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).

Making Sure Our Workers are Prepared to Compete for the Jobs of the 21st Century
---------------------------------------------------------------
- Assure Better Training and Retraining Programs for Manufacturing Workers.
- Making Four Years of College Affordable.

Create a New "College Opportunity Tax Credit"
-----------------------------------------------

Pay College Tuition for Students That Give Two Years of Service to America
---------------------------------------------------------------

http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/economy/outsourcing.html
=========================================================
Addressing Outsourcing by Requiring Companies to Fully Disclose Their Plans to Send Jobs Overseas :
====================================
"Under this Administration, America’s middle class has been abandoned – its dreams denied, its Main Street interests ignored and its mainstream values scorned by a White House that puts privilege first," said John Kerry. "Middle class Americans don’t ask for special favors, they just want basic fairness, and a President who fights for that ideal."
"Next November, we can change all that," Kerry continued.  "Because in a Kerry Administration, if you are doing your part and doing what’s right – whether you’re a CEO in the corner suite or a worker in an office or on the factory floor – you’ll have a President who honors you, respects your contribution, and who will fight for you and your future everyday."

Priorities =
Give Workers Notice
--------------------
- Kerry will require companies to inform affected workers.
- Kerry will require companies to provide employees at least 3 months advance notice.

Keep Jobs in America
---------------------
- Use Government Contracts for U.S. Workers.
- Stop Giving Government Contracts to Corporations Breaking the Rules.
- Consumers “Right to Know” on Call Center Workers.
- End Every Single Tax Credit That Gives Corporations Breaks for Moving Jobs Offshore.

Part of a Real Plan to Create Real Jobs
----------------------------------------
- A Tax Credit to Create Manufacturing Jobs.
- More Jobs in Small Business.
- Jobs Through Energy Technology.
- Enforce Trade Laws to Protect American Workers.
- Make Sure Americans Can Compete in 21st Century Economy.

Since I don't like either Almond Joy (Nader) or Mounds (Shrub), I'll sit back and enjoy a Milky Way, because the sky's the limit with Kerry.  And remember, Milky Way has nougat and "Kerry"mel.
