The Signal leak was a major fuck up. The optics of the aftermath would have been much better if they had held someone accountable earlier. Will be interesting to see how Trump handles the firings in his remarks.

Waltz had major policy differences with Trump and his cabinet. Waltz wanted to take a harder line against Russia by imposing stricter sanctions on the country. However, Trump is best buds with Putin, so Waltz had to go. A similar situation happened during Trump's first administration, when his National Security Adviser John Bolton, a policy hawk, wanted to take harder lines against Iran and North Korea. Trump ended up booting, not reassigning, him.

It didn’t benefit the American People one bit. All it did was drain our blood and treasure for retarded Islamic sociopaths who didn’t deserve it.
Because Trump had soured on Putin before Walz got kicked up to the UN. Trump got tired of Putin's foot-dragging on a cease-fire and when Zelensky signed the minerals deal that was the final straw. Although he hasn't said much, it appears Trump has opened the taps on providing more arms aid to Ukraine. For example, a Ukrainian transport plane was seen in Arizona loading decommissioned F16 fuselages, which it then flew to Poland. The US Air Force acknowledged they would be used to provide parts to keep Ukraine's F16s donated by European countries flying. Or to be used as decoys, as the article below suggests.
Putin has misplayed his hand and it happened before Walz's "promotion" as UN Ambassador was announced.
