But, after awhile, it started to get a bit stale, for my taste.

People are constantly being "shamed" for having a conservative viewpoint, just like Miss America, the NERVE of a young black woman to only want "equal rights" and not "special rights" From all the outrage you'd think she had just admitted to having voted for Donald Trump which would probably have resulted in her being stripped of the title. lol

As for sitcoms, I am tired of the same old formulistic shows where the man is always the dumb one, the woman is always the smart one, and any reference to the conservative side of EVERY issue is one of ridicule and derision. It's almost as insulting to my intelligence as reading anything written by fg or Hadji.

Just about everyone gets a chance to look stupid, even the character who plays Tim Allen's character's wife. Her political correctness is constantly blowing up in her face.

You know what a fan of political correctness I am. lol

I do have a rule of thumb I try to follow where it comes to TV shows, if it needs a "laugh track" to tell me when I am supposed to laugh, you can pretty much count me out.

There have been a handful of sitcoms I have liked over the years, Married with Children and Two and a Half Men (with Charlie Sheen of course) are a couple that come to mind, most are so vapid and mindless I can't get through more than five minutes or so.

No laugh track. Only 7 episodes so far. If you like baseball, alcohol, sex, and great writing, you'll like Brockmire.

It's on IFC, which is owned by AMC.  Channel 1356 on Spectrum. You can always google Brockmire, and just watch all previous 7 episodes, and watch them in order. In Episode 1, he was the play-by-play announcer for the Royals, but he went off the rails live, when he found out his wife likes sex with lots of guys at once. He ends up in the minor leagues trying to get back to the majors. Binge on it. It really is a funny well-written show.

...all the time - even when he's having sex.  He also had a great description of a home run:

“Folks, that ball cannot be buried in a Jewish cemetery because it just got tattooed!”

...It's an animated series which takes place in the year 3000.  There's a robot character named Bender who may have been based on your life.  Bender has been described as an "alcoholic, whore-mongering, chain-smoking gambler."

When did you quit smoking, GaG?   :-D
