Don't hold your breath for an explanation.  Tim's an idiot, and nobody here really expects him to type anything substantive.  That's why his one-liners always go unanswered.  When you see idiot smiley someplace in the message, you always know it's some incoherent dribble.  He's the Sarah Palin of this board. Move on.

Are you trying to imply that I [wink}

mouth insubsantial inanities?
make no substantive contribution to political debate?
have thoughts of no consequence or worth?
and otherwise am a waste of political space?

Or are you trying to imply that about Timbow?

Gosh, such hostility.  Maybe it's because I'm a newcomer to DC politics [wink, wink].  Well, I plan to Drill, Baby, Drill as would any proud daughter of Wasilla, Alaska who specializes in foreign policy by virtue of being able to see Russia from her porch.  [Or is it my backyard?  all that tundra looks alike to me!]

Now, got to go, have to issue some orders to the Alaska National Guard, of which I am Commander-In-Chief, and keep them alert and poised to stave off invasion from either those rapacious Russians or those canny, cunning Canadians [winking all the way!!!]

You are close to  choking on sour grapes.

If the link from the pinko/commie NY Times is to be believed, Powell's endorsement was motivated by his wariness of some of McCain's campaign tacticsa and the sad and incredible fact that McCain has surrounded himself and continues to listen to Israel-First NeoConMen foreign policy advisers.  So, apparently Mitt Romney's presence or absence would not have effected Powell's decision.

Yes, it's possible that this was simply an act of racial solidarity, but i'm betting at this point even you really  don't and can't believe that errant nonsemse.

Take heart, Timbow; you've still got the Bradley Effect.

Financial markets are going to rebound tomorrow by 1000 points

Credit is going to start flowing like water on the Hudson

No home foreclosures starting tomorrow

Deficit transformed itself into a surplus

Money owed to China paid off

Iraq and Afghan wars over and done with

Are you kidding, who cares. It is one mans opinion.

Yes indeed, he is a transformational figure, transforming America from a free market society into a socialist income distribution society. Wait till the transformation is complete.

This is the same man who went in front of the UN and said Saddam had WMD. Of course he was lied to, but as Retired General he should have known better. If Cheney can bullshit him, O'Bomb is bullshitter extraordinaire!

No racism here of course!

FWIW I don't believe that Powell's endorsement of Obama was racially motivated. I give the man more respect than that. I believe he is making a horrible mistake, but nothing in his past gives me any cause to believe that race has anything to do with his decision.

If those types of comments on this board are representative of even a microcosm of American politics, it is no surprise (to me at least) that we have not had a woman or minority as President.

What does it say about our society when even male dominated societies in Africa & S.America have elected women to high office?

One can only hope that those views are truly a minority ...

He's a retired Four Star. You REALLY think he couln't evaluate the two candidates using the metric he cited BEFORE the past few weeks?

No, it was something other than things he saw yesterday. He said he decided shortly after the conventions. Where has he been for a month?

My guess is he wanted to wait to see if his guy did something to fuck it up, without waiting too close to end, thereby looking like he was jumping on the winner's band wagon. But of course that's what he's doing.

I think anyone with half a brain understands that he likely decided who he was going to vote for quite some time ago.  He just watched your guy step on his dick so much over the past few weeks that his consternation lead him to take action.  Powell is regarded as a quiet, careful man that doesn't like to necessarily impose his opinions on others - unless the situation is absolutely dire.  The possibility of McCain leading this country qualifies as dire, so he spoke up.  If anything that makes his endorsement MORE genuine.  The idea that the timing of his announcement somehow makes it less valid is absolutely ridiculous, like a majority of your arguments.

Your shit is reeeaaallllly weak when the only criticism you can come up with is the timing of an announcement.  Especially when idiots who identify themselves with a particular party have sucked Colin's dick for so long.  They damn near begged him to run for Prez....

Who's the idiot now?

anyway, back to the subject...

So if Colin Powell endorses Hussein, does that mean that Hussein gets the automatic win? How about Lyn Forester de Rothschild??...She's on the Democratic Platform Committee, but she supports John McCain. How about Sen. Lieberman? He supports McCain. How about Bill Clinton? He (secretly) supports John McCain (haha!).

It looks to me that this race is now a matter of "race". I wonder when Condy is going to endorse Hussein....

We should start this election day in puting a woman in at least the Vice Presidency.  Or pass it up a second time around this campaign season.  I guess its a choice between just talking about it or not doing it at all, when it comes to gender.

Transformational, O'Bombi, are you kidding.

The only transformation he has done is to run for president three months after he got to the Senate.

Like Colin Powell too, but have strong disagreements with his UN speech and his philosophy. He should have resigned as soon as he knew, he was set up to take the fall.

Why serve out the term.

I'm not sure I understand what you are talking about.

I disagree with Powell's decision regardless of what it was based on, but one of the things I have always respected him for was his refusal to make race a major issue. He has always struck me as an American first, a black American distantly second. I would be even more dissappointed to find out that his motivation to endorse Obama was racial. I expect idiots like Conroy to make decisions like that, I expect more from men like Colin Powell. Until proven otherwise, I am giving him the BOD.

Someone that makes blockheaded generalizations about black people; expects a black person to act in a manner not motivated by race?  LOL.  Fuck your expectations, clown.  That's a judgment a docile, socially inept Asian doesn't get to make.  Especially one whose perception of racism is based on his subtle hatred of black people.

You "expect more"...LOL.  Get the fuck outta here.

You chastised me for simply cutting and pasting insults that I sent your way. (Actually, since I wrote them all to begin with, my repeating them didn't require any cut and paste and even if I did, how does one copy from him self?)

I reused the same old insults a second time because:
1) As my post title states, I didn't think you had gotten the opportunity to appreciate my characterization of you the first time I used them six days ago. I was wrong but pleased about that.
AND
2) The characterization of you was still fitting and worth repeating.

I hope this helps answer your question "What????". The remainder of your post only corroborates my aforementioned characterization of you (I COULD repeat it if it will help) and does not warrant further discussion.

I am saying I would have asked him that question about Romney .
If you do not think that is substantive I can see why you cannot    understand  a lot of comments on this forum.
