That was a terrific outcome!  So sad that she had to go through the terror of the entire matter.  My only thought on this is that she probably needs a bigger caliber gun so that 5 shots aren't neccessary to stop the invader!!! The other unfortunate thing is that the Georgia taxpayers will have to pay his medical bills and for his incarceration-so another reason for a larger caliber-No medical bill-no incarceration expense-case closed!

It's always a HUGE discussion in the military, the usefulness of full auto. It's great to have under very certain conditions. Jungle warfare, very close range where you can hear and not necessarily see your target. Other very specific scenarios. Full auto is about establishing fire superiority...it's about supression in reaction to a surprise. Killing people in a movie theater? Nah...you'd probably kill less...

Marksmanship is king.

The bottom line is that all these civilian military variants are for all practical purposes are 99% capable combat weapons. Fast triggers, compact ergonomics, lightweight, standard accessories, easy to mitigate muzzle rise...etc..

I'm not for a ban whatsoever, but anyone who says there's a large difference in capability between civilian versions and the military weapons is full of shit. These are combat rifles.
