A Taylormade new M2 Driver costs $399.99 and a Callaway GBB Epic costs $499.99.   All parts and assembly made in China, Vietnam and Mexico.    If these companies go by Abu Invanka Al Amreeki the same products if manufactured in US will cost, add $300.    On top of it there are no manufacturing facilities to build them here.

As for tech companies, banks, insurance and Amazon, they will not "hire" unskilled Americans here and pay them $25 an hour but instead send "work" overseas.    An Indian, or Irish or Philpino instead of coming here on H1B  will do the same work from offices in their own country.    This is age of satellite communications and high speed internet, video conferencing, webcam meetings.

You think that we shouldn't focus on our own people? That we shouldn't at least put Americans first in line where possible?  

That our Government shouldn't hire American's first?  That's our money. Why should we support or subsidize companies that ship jobs overseas to save a few bucks and avoid labor laws and environmental issues?  

We need to employ our citizens otherwise they are a drag on the system.  We have 10's of millions unemployed, we need to find them useful employment. If that costs some companies some profit, so be it.  

The thing is if those clubs where made here, they would be more competition as the prices increased. Making it profitable enough to incentivize new start ups. When there are profits to be had and competition is weak others will enter the market. That's how capitalism works.  So Maybe Callaway doesn't get to make 500% profit per club. Tough luck.

If everyone has to make clubs in the USA, then it's still an equal playing field...  

Right now, it's more profitable, in some cases the only way it can be profitable, to have things made elsewhere. That's not likely to change. What could happen is an import tax.  That type of tax is VERY common around the world. We don't have it.  

Do you think that low wage people in China know how to make a golf club?  They take a design, likely from here and make it there while paying lower wages and ignoring environmental issues.  We can train people to make the clubs here. Just like they train people to make them there.  You think it's rocket science?  

But this isn't even the point.  The point is to favor American citizens in hiring. That seems to be common sense to me. If you can hire an American, do so.  Actually what Trump did only effects the government. He can't dictate those policies on private companies. Government can incentivize hiring America and buy American but he can't actually force them to do so.  It's not like Ocare which forced people to buy a product from a private business.  

It's like you favor people in other countries over Americans. You'd rather have them on the dole then being productive members of society?  So many great things happen when actually employment is tight.
