You have got to be kidding......I seem to recall Kerry winning almost every major URBAN area (where most of the wealthy people are) Bush won rural, & in many cases poorer areas....Bush only won because RNC did great job of spining & distorting everything & succeeding with the scare tactics (ie: Kerry will take away bibles & guns, blah, blah, blah.)....

The areas you are pointing to generally share one thing in common. A LOT of that wealth was inherited, NOT EARNED by the present holder. Generally people who have actually developed their wealth through business/industry tend to be conservative. Those who inherit on the other hand (or marry rich women ) tend to be more Liberal in their thinking. My point earlier was that people who actually "EARNED" their money tend to go conservative.

BTW, yes, there are outliers to every rule, so don't waste my time by naming individuals.

I was talking to my mother about it - and she said a lot of Germans, even Jews thought the country was taking a good and strong turn with that Hitler dude, too.  While I don't think Bush is in that class of scum- I did find the excitement about a national disastrous choice interesting- voters can feel really good about mistakes too.
