BAN DIHYDROGEN MONOXIDE!

Dihydrogen monoxide is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people every year. Most of these deaths are caused by accidental inhalation of DHMO, but the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide do not end there. Prolonged exposure to its solid form causes severe tissue damage. Symptoms of DHMO ingestion can include excessive sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance. For those who have become dependent, DHMO withdrawal means certain death.

Dihydrogen monoxide:

   * is also known as hydroxl acid, and is the major component of acid rain.
   * contributes to the "greenhouse effect."
   * may cause severe burns.
   * contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape.
   * accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals.
   * may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes.
   * has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.

Contamination is reaching epidemic proportions!

Quantities of dihydrogen monoxide have been found in almost every stream, lake, and reservoir in America today. But the pollution is global, and the contaminant has even been found in Antarctic ice. DHMO has caused millions of dollars of property damage in the midwest, and recently California.

Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:

   * as an industrial solvent and coolant.
   * in nuclear power plants.
   * in the production of styrofoam.
   * as a fire retardant.
   * in many forms of cruel animal research.
   * in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical.
   * as an additive in certain "junk-foods" and other food products.

Companies dump waste DHMO into rivers and the ocean, and nothing can be done to stop them because this practice is still legal. The impact on wildlife is extreme, and we cannot afford to ignore it any longer!

The American government has refused to ban the production, distribution, or use of this damaging chemical due to its "importance to the economic health of this nation." In fact, the navy and other military organizations are conducting experiments with DHMO, and designing multi-billion dollar devices to control and utilize it during warfare situations. Hundreds of military research facilities receive tons of it through a highly sophisticated underground distribution network. Many store large quantities for later use.

You've been had.   Do the math:

Dihydrogen (H2) + Oxide (O) = H2O aka, water.

Water bashing smartass. Someone will probably find a way to make this George W's fault. Well maybe they will have a point since "God" makes the stuff

Oh, I knew exactly what it was/is... I was having a few dozen shots when I posted and didn't bother to comment at the time. But thanks for caring enough to share:)

It doesn't change a thing about my comment because when it comes to anything involving the fear and loathing inherent in government corruption, you follow the money trail. Thats always been the rule of thumb.

But have you checked your water supply lately? In Los Angeles, they warn you not to use tap water in your fish tanks until its been completely filtered because the chemicals are fatal to goldfish. In Atlanta, the tap water is brown due to the dirt, detritus, offal and other impurities and industrial pollution that have seeped into the water tables. And it wasnt that long ago someone developed photographs using nothing but water from the Ceveland Ohio shores of Lake Erie.

I am reminded of the line from Rime of the Ancient Mariner: Water Water Everywhere, and not a Drop to Drink.

You have to admit 70 reads and only one taker. Not bad, and the one taker was admittedly drunk. Penn & Teller had a lot better success when they ran the same gag a couple of years ago.

Maybe the folks who read this board aren't so stupid after all. Except those on the left, or was it the right. I can't remember, maybe I've had one too many out of DrGonzo's bottle myself. lol

"Water, water everywhere, and all the boards did shrink. Water water everywhere, nor any drop to drink!" That Coleridge could really spin a yarn.

However, I think the best line was "Unhand me greybeard loon" - I'm reminded of that quote frequently these days, whenever I see George W. on the tube. Can't imagine why.

I dunno though... Chivas and dihydrogen monoxygen doesn't sound quite as appealing as Chivas and water! Better yet, forget the fuckin' water... Chivas on the rocks!
How bout you GaGambler? Got any Georgia Peach schnapps?

Nah, Chivas with frozen pieces of dihydrogen monoxygen sounds just fine to me. I personally hate the introduction of liquid dihydrogen monoxygen into any of my distilled spirits. Why fuck up good booze?
