Just starting out and they’re striking jurors left and right.
Juror 1: Saw the video and has strong opinions. Dismissed Juror 2: Has not seen the video. Is a chemist and will likely be interested in the toxicology reports.Air Force veteran who had positive feelings towards Blue Lives Matter and was worried about protestors harassing his family and vandalizing his home.
So we stand at one juror selected so far.
AND I am hardly sympathetic to George Floyd himself, nor do I mourn his death in the least. He was a thug, a criminal and is hardly anyone I would lose any sleep over.
That said, All FOUR cops deserve prison time and Chauvin in particular needs to spend DECADES behind bars. Where is comes to Chauvin it doesn't really matter that much to me WHY he murdered Floyd, but it's inconceivable that anyone could conclude that he didn't commit cold blooded murder. Unless the defense gets 12 white, racist, cops or ex cops on the jury the very best they can hope for is a hung jury, no "normal" person is going to look at that tape and somehow conclude it was anything else but murder.
Now if they would only go after the murderous rioters with the same zeal as they are going after these four cops and the so called 'insurrectionists" in Washington DC I'd say the system was working, but we all know that is never going to happen.
I think her uncle is a cop. Noted on the jury questionnaire that she was “excited” to be selected for jury duty.
I haven’t seen the jury survey they had to fill out, and no visuals because of privacy concerns, but based on the tone of her voice it seemed DFK, Yes; S&M, Light; and Anal, YMMV.
Will someone please wake me when Chickenshit is finished?
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BWAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boring Nazi.
BWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Commenter reply: I think it's important to note that he also said that he took issue with "BlueLivesMatter", but supports police. Kinda like many ppl say they don't support "BlackLivesMatter", but support the Black community.
Oh, and....
BWAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both prosecution and defense are delving into prospective jurors’ opinions on whose lives matter.
And he have our first immigrant on the jury
This should balance out some of the pro-BLM jurors that have been seated.
Seems like a guy who will consider evidence and arguments from both sides.
That gets the jury to 3 White Males, 1 Black Immigrant Male, 1 Hispanic Male and 1 Female who seems to be mixed (race unknown).
added a lesser charge of 3rd Degree Murder as an option for the jury. It seems like an admission that they know their charge of 2nd degree murder doesn't have a snowball's chance. I think they will add more walk-backs before the trial starts.
The prosecution only has a few strikes left, but I think they’ll use one on this guy.
You're slacking....you know you can be replaced so step it up.
46 & 47 were dismissed before the jury selection phase. There are hundreds of citizens who filled out the jury questionnaire, but many of them are dismissed before this phase of the process. The ones going through this portion of the selection process have already cleared the first hurdle.
and Chauvin’s defense team has filed a change of venue motion.
They need to find out if the news of the settlement has impacted their ability to be fair jurors.
Juror 55 has not seen the entire video. She’ll be the second juror who has not seen the video.
I can’t believe the prosecution didn’t strike her.
Judge dismissed #59. Defense didn’t even have to waste a strike on him.
Immediately dismissed as he was having a strong negative reaction to the thought of having to be on this jury. Terrified because LE had to view his ID coming in. "sick to my stomach even being here" said he absolutely could not presume Chauvin's innocence
there seem to be plenty
BLM meetings are always packed
Defense just used a strike against a potential juror who thought George Floyd had been shot by the police.
The defense is citing this in their motion to move the trial out of Minneapolis.
who heard it from the jury. Some complaints that blacks are being excluded from the jury for their lived experiences.
