For what it’s worth, as a left liberal, I even think it’s going to far to allow those who gender identify differently than their birth sex to share certain spaces, like bathrooms and lockers, with those who identify with their birth sex. I’m all about creating protections from discrimination, but this IMO goes both ways. A girl who was born as such and doesn’t feel comfortable sharing such private spaces with someone whose birth sex is male but identifies as a female matters too. That’s where having a gender neutral bathroom comes into play. As long as you still have regular bathrooms too, you’re creating a comfortable space for everyone. I know you righties think we owe nothing to creating a safe comfortable space for them, so that’s where we disagree.

That quote was from Riley Gaines, a swimmer who lost a podium spot to Lia Thomas. She’s a conservative activist, so I linked to a more unbiased source for those who wanted to find out more information about the ruling.

I’ve got no problem with providing gender neutral  spaces for trans individuals, but think this Title IX revision represented the wishes of the most radical wing of the LGBTQ community, rather than finding a more common ground that even liberals like you could support.

Well, I'm still not familar with the details of the law to know if those changes actually would require what's in that quote, which is why I asked.

 
I do also believe that it is not fair to let someone who is trans compete in a sport with their preferred gender. They have a genetic advantage. There should be no locker room sharing because you are forcing women who are not comfortable with a trans person in their space to have to accept it. Providing them with a single use bathroom solves this issue. Furthermore, for sports they should have to compete with their birth sex if it's at competitive levels. If a trans woman (born male) wants to compete with other men but wear a dress, this I would not mind.

If you were born with the body of a man, your musculoskeletal system is that of a man no matter how many hormones you take and no matter what you do with your junk. You should not be competing with women. And this is NOT a violation of some natural "right."
For non-sports issues I say cut them some slack. For example, The SPOAT is well known to be a woman IRL but here on TER "he" pretends to post as a man. I have no objection to that.
