then why is it there was no violence in schools for decades?  And don't forget the Pledge of Allegiance never had a mention of god in it until the early '50s -- and it's had "under God" in it ever since. Kids still recite it every morning. You really should re-read the part of the Constitution that requires the separation of church and state.  If you want your kids to have god in their classroom, send them to a religious school.  That's your right.  It's my right not to have my kids preached at.
Now, I'm all for religion if it's a comfort to you to believe of some big Being in the sky.  But also keep in mind that, for centuries, more people of been murdered and abused in the name of god -- or for their religious beliefs -- than for any other reason.
There are lots of reasons why this country has become so violent.  And none of them are because god is not in schools.
