Ironically, you also downplay or ignore things that go against your beliefs. The millions that were slaughtered in Southeast Asia due directly to the pullout in Vietnam is ignored by you. The millions that will be killed in Iraq if we leave early mean nothing to you. But you cry your little eyes out about Darfur, Somalia, and Kosovo. A genocide is a genocide only if George Clooney speaks out against it. The millions that have died from Malaria due to banning DDT also is irellevant.
The avg. temp was down a couple of degrees in the 70s and the world was freezing and WE WERE ALL GOING TO DIE. Now it's up a couple of degrees AND WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE.

Regarding the slaughter in So Asia, I assume you are referring to the Killing Fields in Cambodia which happened under the rule of the Khmer Rouge which was supported by the U.S. If you wanna blame someone, it could easily be argued that it was actually the presence of U.S. involvement in Asia that helped it happen as a result of economic and military support to the Khmer Rouge! And, it was actually stopped by the communists from Vietnam.
So stop trying to revise history and say it happened because we left -- it happened because we went to begin with.

Strawman fallacy first: that were whining about what are comparatively small casualties. No, we're seeing lives being thrown at a strategy that can't succeed. "Mission accomplished" was the strategy, remember? Knock down Saddam and Iraq will blossom into a Democracy. We accomplished our strategic objective. What we couldn't accomplish was the political results.
If we lose as many people as we did in the civil war, we could accomplish the complete de-population of Iraq and Iran and then openly colonize it. Since that's not what we want to do, at least openly, we're stuck throwing lives away a dozen at a time waiting for the right political results.
Another strawman with a false comparison: for liberals Iraq is like Custer's last stand? Custer's last stand was a mere skirmish. Iraq is a calamity.
The millions who were slaughtered in SE Asia due to liberal policy: the same thing would have happened in 1954 if it weren't for us. We bought them 20 years to either get themselves together or get out of Vietnam. We bought them that time at a high price, and it was certainly better than what was done after WW2, which was to repatriate people who fought the Nazis right into the maw of Stalin's Gulags.
The dirty little story about the end of Vietnam is that conservatives were just as relieved it was over as anybody.
About DDT being banned, if it were a mistake, conservatives would have gotten it unbanned long ago. You conservatives love to make it a political point, but none have ever tried to lift the ban. Why? Because once you even glance at the facts, they don't support lifting the ban. So, occasionally, conservatives will call this genocide. Reconsider the ban on DDT can go nowhere. The stuff is too harmful for everything.
Given the pace of the killing in Iraq, it's difficult to say if more would be killed if we go. It could be that bad. The evil of Bush's policy is that anyone would find it difficult to leave Iraq. So, we're left their throwing lives away trying to come up with something better.
The problem with Iraq as well as Vietnam is that we don't have a real ally of any stature running the country: our war has to create one. Set up somebody and hope they could handle it.
