For someone who has fairly good taste in movies, I am disappointed.

I know this plot was lame.  I AM NOT SAYING that Obama was using it as a scare tactic.  My subtle joke was that Bush was using it.

The joke and irony lie in the fact that prior to 2008, when there were terror stories before an election, the left did a song and dance of how the administration was making up these stories and alerts to manipulate people.  It was the evil Rove, not real danger.  

What I find as so funny is that now, while there is this admittedly lame plot, no one is singing that song.

What I mean by maybe there are things that go bump in the night is that while this may be a stupid plot, it is a real plot.  They only have to sneak things through once.  If they did not tell people about this and it was the time that they got lucky, every one would have gone bongos, screaming "how can you not have told us?"

But when they told about plots thwarted in the old days, people screamed, "Why are you trying to scare us?"

Do you now understand what I was getting at?

Let me tell you the one thing I have learned after almost 30 years of criminal law.  The vast majority of criminals and bad guys are dumb. That doesn't mean they don't exist, that they aren't able to pull it off at times, or that there is no danger.  This may be lame, but it was real.

The international anti-terror community - even those outside of Crawford, Texas - are taking this seriously.  You can laugh it off all day.

Finally, you only look at half the news.  There are all the other things found in England, which they think might be a test.

Of course, that is all bogus also, and it is all manufactured by Rove & Co. to scare people like they used to.
