BUT, per GeminiAI:
Nick Saban's most crucial losses at Alabama often involved national championship implications, like the 2013 Kick Six to Auburn, derailing a potential three-peat; the 2016 & 2018 National Championship losses to Clemson, ending dominant runs; the 2010 Iron Bowl blown lead to Auburn, ruining Cam Newton's potential Heisman run; and the 2023 Michigan CFP loss, which was his potential final game, alongside the shocking 2007 ULM loss, which he called his most humiliating. These defeats, though painful, often fueled incredible rebounds, demonstrating his "So What, Now What" philosophy.
Infamous/Heartbreaking Losses
2013 Auburn (Kick Six): Lost on a missed field goal return, costing Alabama a shot at three straight titles, notes The Tuscaloosa News.
2016 Clemson (National Championship): Lost to Clemson on a last-second touchdown, ending a perfect season and a potential dynasty, say The Tuscaloosa News and Banner Society.
2018 Clemson (National Championship): Another dominant team dismantled by Clemson in the CFP final. ----------------------------------------------- 1.) I meant to send this to to Hpy as a private message since I had posted so much but... mistakes will happen.
2.) I love Saban as much as the next guy. I think this joke is from ~2018. It was right around the time that everyone was heartbroken. I said it was outdated... Saban didn't lose a lot, but he lost at the WORST times! But he did always come back!
Looks like production will be halted due to Canadians boycott of American booze.
Say 1500 employees will be moved around for about a year still maybe trumps gets his shit together.
But give it time.. they’ll be layoffs coming
Yup Kentuckians..,, ya all voted for this.., yahooo🤣🤣🤣
Let the spin begin… “but, but, but….Biden!!”
It appears you read the article you linked but either didn't understand what it said OR are just making some grand predictions of what you'd like to see. They are throttling back production at ONE facility and in talks with the union to make the best scenario for the company as well as the workers and take this time to make improvements to said facility. It almost sounds like the company is doing the opposite of what a wicked, bottom-line rich old white men board of directors would do.
Actually, it pretty much looks like it's almost plagiarism had the journo-twit not chosen to put her own Orange Man Bad flavor to it. I didn't notice any attribution to industry article either. She did quote partial Reagan but conveniently left out the meat of what Reagan said, just like Doug Ford did when he use the highly edited speech in the commercial.
....Yes, the pissing match between Trump and the Cannucks has caused some issues for the American spirits industry and Jim Bean BUT, and it's a big fucking BUT, there's much more to the story. This link provided was not written by a journo-twit writing for a Trump hating London rag. It's an intentionally unbiased industry publication with real facts and information. Yes, it also cites tariffs as a contributing factor.
The American spirits industry is doing quite well actually and has recovered from the 2018 debacle created by Biden. He's some more info on that. Again, it's from an intentionally NOT-POLITICAL industry paper and not some twit lefty hack writing for a foreign press agency so take that for what its worth...probably not so much to you as it doesn't jive with the narrative you want to clutch so closely to your heart.
https://www.distilledspirits.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/FINAL-2024-Export-Report.pdf
American spirits sales took the first hit in 2018 based on a tariff pissing match with Biden and the EU over steel. I'm guessing you folks concerned about the folks down in Clermont, KY then too??? For more clarification of the challenges facing Jim Beam and Jack Daniels as iconic American whiskeys is the emergence of craft bourbon/whiskey labels as well as cannabis beverages storming the marketplace.
https://www.distilledspirits.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/FINAL-2024-Export-Report.pdf
100% correct...
A lot more going on than just "tariffs". People are ignoring how whiskey company of Old Smokey is taking the liquor world by storm. The small craft "bourbon" snob culture of the millennials and Gen Z. That is steering away from your standard Jack and Beam. Why do you think they had to come out with the products they have in the past few years.... multiple flavored whiskey/bourbons.... more "aged" bourbons/whiskeys.... etc. To stay in that shifting market. Those two age groups are moving towards pre-mixed can cocktails and seltzers.
Then like you mentioned with the rise in cannabis drinks and legalization of recreational cannabis. This has taken a hit on all alcohol sales across the board. People are turning towards edibles. Pop a gummy and you only need 1 glass of whiskey instead of 3 as a "night cap"..... if you need one at all.
Like you mentioned..... tariffs with Canada halted some sales but not the "exaggerated" amount that the OP's article want it to be. Other market dynamics are at play. Like I keep mentioning....people want a scapegoat and ORANGE MAN BAD is an easy one.
Articles don't want to hit on or talk about market shifts, consumer tastes/trends, etc. They want Orange man bad because that is easy and will make 1/2 the country happy. But if you don't believe in market shifts.... go look. If you don't think so.... why are more and more seltzers popping up on the market? Why more and more "pre-mixed" cocktails in the can are popping up on the market? BECAUSE THEY ARE SELLING. Same goes for your flavored whiskies.... why do you think Old Smoky keeps coming out with new flavors....same goes for your Crown, Jim, Jack, etc. Hell beer companies are shifting towards flavored beers (Busch/bud light apple, peach, lime) The market shifts which if you are late to the game or not ready for it. You will have losses or need to have shutdowns to shift into that direction.
People forget about the Bourbon explosion and people predicting the "bourbon bubble" in the early 2000's. When tastes shifted towards bourbon. New distilleries popping up everywhere.... local ones.
Here is the thing with Alcohol industry.... it always shifts back. There was a micro-brew explosion late 80's early 90's.... it faded. Then the "craft brewery" explosion happened about 5-10 years ago...and now that trend is slowing. With smaller breweries closing doors because of the saturated market. Same will go for this with Jim/Jack. It will have up swings and down swings.
Between you two. It’s So like you two.
I’ll let you guys flip a coin to see who wears the skirt 🤣
The spin you guys spin is sooooo predictable 😆😆
“But taste are changing”, “people smoking weed”…, Please…you guys
I guess you never look at market trends.
You never look to see when the actual industry talked about a "bourbon bubble" and it was going to hit and when. All of this prior to any fucking tariffs and it was during the Biden presidency.
BUT GOT IT..... but ORANGE MAN BAD.
Here is an article talking about BOURBON BUBBLE back in Dec 24 and Feb 24. (below)
These talk about how many new distilleries are coming to market....ie: FLOODING the market. Which means more product on the market. Talks about how the industry was seeing rapid growth for years during covid and post covid. Producers were wondering it they could keep up that pace. HMMMMM..... they were kind of forecasting this. YET like mentioned above the one place is kind of "re-tooling" the plant. But yeah. FACTS MATTER. Just try not to ignore them.
https://www.wlky.com/article/bourbon-bubble-burst-kentucky/46664406
Here is one more of people talking about a possible Bourbon Bust back in 2023.
Again they are discussing it. Which means they foresee possible issues.
Hey,
In truth, I don't know enough about tariffs to comment on them... And, I'm horrible at jokes. And this one is a bit outdated... But your post made me think of it, so I had to send it! Of course, I was taught it by another hobbyist...
A Southern gent is quizzing his Yankee wife on spirits....
Man: What's the number one whiskey from Kentucky?
Woman: Easy. Jimmy Beam.
Man: Good. What's the number one whiskey from Tennessee?
Woman: Ummm. Jack Daniels.
Man: Good. Now what's the number whiskey from Alabama?
Woman: I have no clue. I thought they only had wine there.
Man: Clyde May, Darlin'. What were you thinking of? Muscadine wine like we had for lunch?
Woman: In a whiny voice, "Now why do we keep losing under Saban?
LOL. Don't know if you'll get it but... It brought back fond memories for me so thanks for that.
Love,
Katie

Fan's were calling for Sadan to be fired when he was having 2 loss seasons. When he was lost to Auburn in the Iron Bowl... when he couldn't beat Georgia.... etc.
That is what joke was getting at ...... Alabama is Wine country and the husband didn't mention SABAN.
Hey Mr. Charisma,
Thank you for summarizing that succinctly for me. Alabama is actually my team. Technically, I should be a Bulldog (like Mr. Athens if the etymology of his name was right in the other thread). But the LOYALTY of Alabama fans is contagious! Plus saying, "Roll Tide" to a stranger in Alabama gear has helped me almost as much as the hobby. 😂🤣😂
There's a thank you photo coming to your inbox as soon as I can find it!!
Love,
Katie
I never understood why people were always wanting Sadan's head. His record speaks for itself. His track record of recruiting amazing athletes that eventually make it to the pro's. He did have losses, but he is also not the one missing tackles, dropping balls, making throws, etc..... or when an injury happens in the middle of the game.
I also hope he never returns to coaching. He should leave his legacy right where it is. No need to go back to LSU or even the pro's. Just look at Belichick and that mess.
Yeah. Belichick should have stayed retired. This has been an embarrassment for everyone involved. BUT, once he finds some cheating loopholes, UNC is gonna get their monies worth! I wonder if they're gonna give him time to see them?
HA HA HA....
Now with NIL the "loopholes" are closing. I think he is more concerned about keeping his GF occupied....LOL
I am betting he will be gone very soon. They were using him as a "name" to hopefully get booster money and gain recruits. If they don't see that happening, he will be gone ASAP for someone younger, cheaper, etc.
Obviously not. His first three years are guaranteed. So it would cost UNC a huge amount to boot him. Here's what AI Overview says:
"Bill Belichick's contract with the University of North Carolina (UNC) is a 5-year, $50 million deal, featuring $10 million annually for the first three guaranteed years, plus significant performance bonuses for winning and academic success, with a $1 million buyout if he leaves for another job, while UNC would owe substantial amounts if they fire him without cause, making it a lucrative, coach-friendly agreement designed for long-term commitment."
Please do some research before spouting off foolishly.
I had to fact check you. I live in NC and watch the Sunday morning news every week and I hadn't heard about this!
Sure enough, old Billy Bill was just changing the coaching staff yesterday! So he's here for at least the 2nd of the 3 years. The ACC isn't ready!!! Again, I can't WAIT for the loopholes he finds! Classic Belichick, "No one told us that we couldn't".
soon.... IE: in two more years. Year one is over (and should be recruiting).... year two they give him a chance to recruit using his NAME (two years of recruiting).... and then year three if nothing happens..... if no improvement....GONE. Which means his three years is over and they are not on the fucking hook.
Do you like to just argue for the sake of arguing. AI won't give you how I just fucking explained it. It is what many colleges do with coaches. They give them two recruiting years to see how they can recruit then year three to see results. They will also see what the year 3 recruiting class looks like. Especially with a coach that doesn't have a track record in college and wont have "transfers" following them or roots in the recruiting world. But yeah.... Just fucking argue to argue. Liberals being Liberals.
You are too big a pussy to just take the L and your argument proves MY point, not yours.
Soon means now, not in two years.
Not to mention, AS THE AI OVERVIEW SAYS, even after the third year they can only fire him "for cause." So for you to be right you'd have to know what constitutes "cause' for the purposes of his contract. I may well NOT mean, not winner enough.
Dumbass.
-- Modified on 12/23/2025 5:07:24 PM
Liberals being liberals..... stereotype alive and well.
SOON in college coaching is two to three years.... not IMMEDIATELY. I guess you fucks don't watch sports. Programs give coaches 2-3 years for recruiting. But yeah.... be fucking liberals when proved wrong. FANS wanted him gone because of the distraction of his girlfriend.
CRSM 27 IQ: "IE: in two more years."
CRSM 27 IQ, rather than take the 'L', is trying to convince us that "two more years" = "VERY soon."
WHAT A FUCKING MORON!!!!
Poppa and Mr. Nic,
I'm gonna have to side with Mr. Charisma on this one. Two years is soon! But people were definitely calling for his removal THIS year!
And the cause, well its his gf. She's not invited to practice, games, or events now. It's just all too embarrassing... And Belichick asked UNC to lower their academic rules for players to play. Apparently, that was a mistake. UNC prides itself as an academic institution first. Whether they are the finest... Well, that's another debate. I'm not impressed by UNC grads, but one is my lawyer, and another is my accountant so... 🤷♀️
But when I think about UNC grads calling for Belichick's head, I picture Col. Sanders, sipping a Mint Julep. They're hypocrites. Why is he engaged to a 20s? Well, Col., unlike yourself who just fucks them and moves along, some men become enmeshed. 🤷♀️ Let it go!!! But I can't defend this season for Belichick. However, as Mr. Charisma stated from the outset, HE SHOULD HAVE STAYED RETIRED! He could have made much more as a traveling speaker than ruining his legacy...
My paying rate is about to go to $2000/hr. I can't drink because I'm allergic to alcohol, it always breaks me out in handcuffs... But everyone around me is drinking eggnog, which was made apparently too strong this year. They keep mentioning wrapping gifts. I'm almost tempted to go haul down the gifts and some paper to see how these inebriated tasks would come out. Then, Katie Kuada could have a Pinterest of "DIY- What it was supposed to look like vs What it came out as." But I'm too lazy for the heavy lifting...
SAVE ME! HELP!,
Katie
Thanks you....
These liberal dimwits show that they just want to argue to argue. SOON in the college coaching world is 3 years. Like I explained. They give chances to recruit, build coaching staffs, etc. It is rarely 1-2 years unless something drastic happens. Just like you outlined.....ie: Distractions (GF), scandals (look at MICH), asking for things that the school wont do, etc. It used to be 5 but now with NIL the time frame has moved up.
But then the two brain trusts couldn't take it when I broke down how UNC could get out from the contract after they brought it up without penatly..... you know they way that most Coaches/colleges draw up contracts to be that 3-year exit type plan OR at that 3-year time frame is when coaches who are winning start to "look elsewhere" to put pressure on extensions/renegotiations. This way the college can let them walk without buy outs if the price tag is too high and look elsewhere....or sign them up again.
But yeah..... if you notice when these two brain trusts talk about business sometimes, they miss the mark.
And then the dimwit insists 3 years is "soon." He offers little factual basis for this, he just insists. And then, to cap it off he claims we "miss the mark" when we talk about "business." Except this ISN'T "business." It's college sports.
This fool is so tangled up in his own intellectual underwear it's pathetic.
Now watch him argue some more...what a pinhead.
College sports is BUSINESS.
Factual basis..... I guess you don't watch or follow college sports. Also easy fucking google search.
The average length of a college coach is 3.7 years.
To help you two out.... I even found a fucking paper on it.
BTW.... you two just wanted to argue the "soon" aspect of my comment. Yeah liberals being fucking liberals again. Keep the stereotype alive. Thanks for proving it over and over again.
Why do you use the word "fucking" so much in all your posts. Don't you realize that shows poor vocabulary skills and low intelligence?
Liberal being a FUCKING Liberal insulting intelligence instead of substance of the debate when they lost.
Keep the stereotype alive. No it isn't a sign of low intelligence. If you think so then I guess the Mayor of Minneapolis is of low intelligence.
When we dispute the substance of your argument all you do is repeat the foolishness of your initial argument as if repeating yourself, and CAP yelling, makes your argument stronger. It doesn't. It makes you look like the fool that you are. I believe mayor Frey used the word "fuck" once in an emotional response to the murder of a citizen. Whereas you use "fuck" or "fucking" repeatedly in your posts showing your lack of self-control and low intelligence. If that observation makes me a typical liberal, I'd rather be that than an unintelligent dolt like you.
