"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more
and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and
glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's
desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright
moron."
H.L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)

A Jew Hating Scumbag to be sure, but like Chomsky, a clear thinker and a good writer.  And so just as with Chomsky, there are truths among the lies and lies among the truths, but worth reading.

This one is apparently prescient.

Go Bears! Fight On SC! Go Colorado! (OT, ;&), hey, it's a big nose!)

That's one of the funniest things I've seen here, though it really should be posted on the Humor board.

What is most pathetic is that the author of that message probably believes it.  More's to pity.

I agree with him wholeheartedly.  I have been to swamped to do any fun reading---- but I have Richard Mineter's book: Shadow War, and when I'm done, I'll fill your bucket with knowledge cause a mind is a terrible thing to waste.  All your gonna have to do is listen to me and think what I tellya.  Yeah.

I'm reading Richard Miniter's book-- The Shadow War.   It is awesome and he wrote another book-- Losing Bin Laden: How Bill Clinton's Failures Unleashed Global Terror.    For some crazy bunch of reasons, I'm pressed for extra time at work and away with personal committments so it'll be a couple weeks before I'm done with them but they really have some interesting stuff.

The first pages of Shadow war talk about the "Visa Express" for Saudi Arabian "students" and FBI turf wars O'Neill was fighting and then getting in a pissing constest w/Ms.Bodine (the Ambassador to Yemin) after the attack on the USS Cole.

I'll have more-- but I will say this right now:  Clinton had some successes.  I don't hate the man.
