Not to mention he's on the verge of war with Venezuela because he claims IT'S President is a drug trafficker.
But according to the Times, Hernandez "Flooded America with cocaine."
“Hernández was convicted of conspiring to traffic 400 tons of cocaine in to the United States, and he gets a pardon,” said Tommy Vietor, a former spokesman for the National Security Council in the Obama administration who now co-hosts the liberal podcast “Pod Save America.” “Meanwhile, these unknown individuals who may or may not be fisherman or drug traffickers — we don’t really know — are getting murdered in the open seas. The policy is nonsensical and blatantly illegal.”
Will any of you righties defend this blatant hypocrisy?

I am a Libertarian and follower of the constitution. The left vs. right bickering accomplishes nothing and is exactly what both parties want. Both major parties want people to drink their Kool aid and to think the "other" side is wrong and their side is the only one that can save humanity. Objectively looking at situations without using the lens of your party is the only way we are ever going to climb out of this mess. Unfortunately too many people don't have the guts to do this and just pointing fingers becomes the norm which is in fact what both major parties want. We have a wildly bloated and expensive government that does little, if anything, for the people they are supposed to serve.
On the above mentioned post, yes, blowing up the "drug boats" (this was never proven) was un constitutional and also violated international treaties, human rights laws, they were not given due process, bla bla bla. You get it.
Pardoning Hernandez was constitutional (although I have seen some saying it wasn't depending on if his trial was viewed as fair) but as to why Trump did it at this point is to be seen. It definitely is in complete contradiction to his "war on drugs" stance.
I will discuss anything political with anyone, but once the party nonsense enters the convo I am out. The vast majority of politicians are talking heads for their political party anyway and are just parasites living off your tax dollars. Why people continue to support this is mind boggling. Step away from your tribe/cult and think objectively. You will be better of and so will the United States of America.

Simple question, when have terrorists been afforded "due process"?  If the drug cartel(s) have been designated as a terrorist orgs, which I think they have, they're legit targets.  The question might be whether Trump has the ability to designate as such but Obama took out American citizens in the same fashion and the silence from the left was deafening.

I'll whole heartedly agree with both parties are working as a communal parasite feeding on the citizenry of this country.  There are more than a few that rolled the dice that sending someone to DC to break the system is the last chance to save the country.    On that, the more the system fights against him and tries to remove him from the equation, the more valid my vote has become.

There are still questions if "Cartel of the Sun" is even an actual gang/terrorist organization, and this announcement came just this last week which was after the bombing of the boats. I don't care if they were a fishing boats or drug boats, how this was handled was unconstitutional.
If you disagree or agree with the terrorist designations by Obama (he had more than one during his presidency) I will more than happy to discuss but I do not care about left/right/republican/democrat reactions. Political discussions should be devoid of emotion and follow the federal or state constitutions or the bill of rights.
There are a total of zero politicians that are trying to "break the system". They are all in cahoots to make you believe that without them you will wither and die, which is obviously false and simply to line their pockets with your tax payer dollars. Our country is fine, it does not need to be "saved", that is another fallacy for you to think you need an overlord for your life. Freedom needs to be the focus with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that everyone has the right to attain without government overreach or suppression in their lifetime.

...into that.  It's not really on my radar as something pressing but then again, I don't wake up every day looking for that first opportunity to get wound up about something because Orange Man Bad.  I'm guessing your morning routine is mommy making you breakfast, jerking off and logging into the Daily Kos or New Your Slimes to get your fill of what to think each day.  I just don't know in what order that happens.

You make this so easy.

All you need to do is stop the damn boats and confiscate the cargo. Oh, and by the way it's well known this route is NOT a drug pipeline to the US but to Europe. I'm sure the EU is grateful.

Right, except that most of the so-called "contraband" isn't drugs..."While official statistics do not include illegal activities, independent estimates suggest that drug trafficking may account for approximately 8.5% of Venezuela's GDP as of 2022.
This figure is part of a larger "black economy" that includes gold and gasoline trafficking, which collectively accounted for around 21% of Venezuela's GDP in 2022, surpassing the oil sector in power and influence."
So was snafool lying or did he just fuck up again?

"The lawyer for Juan Orlando Hernández, a former president of Honduras who had been convicted in the United States of drug trafficking charges, said on Tuesday that his client had been released from a federal prison in West Virginia after receiving a full pardon from President Trump. Mr. Trump granted the pardon on Monday evening, fulfilling a pledge he had made days earlier that shocked U.S. officials who had built a major case against Mr. Hernández for flooding the United States with cocaine."

Think about all the drug overdoses or crime that was perpetrated by this guy, and Trump pardons this drug lord just to save an election in Honduras.,,
First the 20B to sway an Argentina election and now this.
WTF!!

Hernandez was good for US as president of Honduras.    Both Obama and Trump liked the relations they had with him while he was in power.   For what ever reason.... I couldn't tell you.

Now to say why he was pardoned....who knows.   To question why US does the things it does when it comes to pardoning leaders especially with drug connections.... look at history..... Iran Contra, Many other south American affairs, Afghan war lords (opium), Mexico and cartels, etc.

Just like many believe that if Sadam was alive today that the middle east might be alot different and possibly more stable and less terror groups and no issues with IRAN.    Just saying.... this was a US fuck up that many in the US military believe to be true.  They could "control" Sadam to a certain extent.   But again..... US can fuck things up.

Now back to Trump going after these "drug boats".... it is to control or gain control of South America politically in a political turbulent country.   This leader is getting money from these cartels and isn't going along with US politics...Just like other leaders that the US in the past has targeted.   Kill the money is why Trump and this administration is going after these drug boats.    He "deemed" them terror groups and is why he is "attacking them".   The legality of it all has to do with the calling them terrorists.    Right/Wrong.... the legality of it all is the ability to deem some group a terror group and to then go after them.

I guess you ignored the fact that I said I have no fucking clue.... but It was when he was THE LEADER OF THE COUNTRY.   Like I said.... This leader, for what every reason politically, both Trump and Obama were on good terms with him.   I stated I have no clue as to WHY he was on good relations or was good for us......BUT YOU IGNORED THAT.

Learn some history for fuck sakes.   How were Somali war lords good for the US.... Yet we helped them gain control of areas. The Contra's were huge drug runners but we used them and helped them.  We backed a rise of a dictator in Brazil Branco, etc.    We backed drug cartels in Mexico during the cold war in the 60's.  The list can go on and on.

Looks like it depends on what website you're pulling info from.  Your info was also from 2022.  A simple google search shows over 21% in the initial summary boxes but the links are to full reports and I'm not diving all the way thru those.

That should tell you how serious his crimes were. Yet, Trump wiped it all away with a stroke of his pen and expunged the conviction from his record.
