dude!  Can I get the location of your incall cave?  I too need to get away from it all and not read or view any media.  Cuz that's where you are hanging if you are not aware of the gallons of crap the Reactionaries on the Bush side are spewing at Kerry.

You must have missed the last few months, or perhaps are a very selective TIVO owner.

You can read, right?  Or did you perhaps dictate your post?

Hey- this is a dirty election- there's plenty of mud going both ways.  The Dems tend to point out the Bush record, the GOP tends to make shit up.  But the recent NatGuard Rove plant does make it seem more even, but then that's clearly a case of Rove making shit up to throw at his own candidate(!) and make it look like a lefty stunt.

Funny how blatent the ABB crowd can be in their attempt in minimilizing President Bush.  I've seen it countless times here on this board people calling him all sorts of demeaning names, shrub, bushwacked, the list could go on.

I don't see the same kind of hatred for Kerry, or before him to Clinton.  Why is it that the 'big tent' party is so intolerant to diffeerences of opinion?

Kinda hypocritical if you ask me.

You didn't hear how badly Clinton was hated by the right wing?  Where the heck were you in 1993, or 1998?  I have never heard hatred like I heard people talking about back then for Clinton...until Dubya took office, of course.

It is not hypocritical at all.  You just have to listen.

hated Clinton is simply an effort to belittle his critics by ascribing to them the unattractive attribute of "hatred."  To quote Peggy Noonan, "We don't hate him.  We hold him in contempt.  There's a difference."

He is a slimy, sack of human filth.

Wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.   :-)

to not crawl into the sewer like a few anti-Bushies who can't even type his name without defaming it.  I've written about this several times regarding how it actually belittles whatever point they are attempting to make.  By the way, long before Clinton, Reagan was getting impaled daily by the prime time comedians/talk show hosts and all forms of media.  I think the left has brought hate politics to this extreme level and it's natural that the Right to swing back.

Remember, Right is Right, and left is wrong.  Bush-04

Carter was the one where all the slamming started, not Rapmaster Ronnie.  Whether it was "deserved" or not (and, yes, that's right...I don't think it was), Carter was termed "stupid" so many times, it is very similar to Dubya.

Oh, and the bit about "Bushies" being such upstanding non-namecalling is rich.  Bushies like Dickhead Cheney, or Zealot Miller, or his brother Dennis Miller...or GOP Geezer?

Oh, I think it started WAY before Carter, Don't forget about how people made fun of the bumbeling Ford, or the "crook" tricky Dick.  Please.  I am sure the sniping goes all the way back to when political parties were formed (remember the founding fathers didn't want political parties).

I also agree that when you take a cheap shot that you minimize your argument - and to a rational person give more weight to the side that you are trying to weaken.

My whole point is that so many of the ABB crowd is so blinded by their hatred for our President, that they cannot fathom giving him the respect that he deserves, and that this level of hatred & blind  adherence to their own ideals does more damage than good.

I have NEVER seen or read about the right being so blinded by their hatred that they have succumbed to an "anybody but xxxx" philosophy.  I guess their ideas are too weak to stand on their own so that the only thing they have to grasp is their intense dislike for those that have honest disagreements with them.

When you find something for me to respect W on, can you post it?

I respected GHWB
I respected Dole
I respect McCain

But a guy who didn't win an election but gets it given to him and then procedes to rule as if he had a clear mandate does not deserve my respect.  A guy who can't speak his own language does not deserve my respect. A guy who actually believes the universe was created in 144 hours deserves NOTHING BUT MY DERISION.  A guy who foolishly took us into war for NO APPARENT REASON deserves my apoplectic rage.  A guy who bungles the real war he needs to fight deserves my contempt.  And a guy who totally squandered the world's sympathy and support after 9/11 deserves to be drawn and quartered.

There is way more, but you have drunk the Koolaid and can't get it, so why bother.

W has EARNED our hatred act by act, blunder by blunder, and event by event.

Now if you can explain all that rage at Clinton, the most effective conservative president since Nixon (who WAS a crook, BTW), you might be on to something.

but I am still waiting for Dubya to do something I can respect him for.

notwithstanding my "Carter is clearly an idiot" post of a few days ago.  I spoke metaphorically, of course (i.e., in the political sense), since I don't believe that Carter is objectively stupid.  Neither do I recall anyone saying so either when he was President, or now.  Carter was ineffectual, impotent, naive, a liberal wolf dressed in moderate's clothing, but I don't know anyone who called him "stupid."

You don't remember people calling Carter stupid?

Ever see "Carter Country"?

The picture of Carter as a yokel was there for his entire term, both stated (by some) and implied (by most).

Yes, I did see "Carter Country."  Like the "Duke of Hazzard (I once lived in "Cooter's" congressional district)," I was always under the impression that it was more a slam on an entire region, one that I learned was very unfair when I migrated from the Northeast to the South.

And no, I don't remember people calling Carter stupid.  If they did, it was unfair, as he is quite clearly very intelligent, if misguided.

I was always under the impression that the characterization was (rightly) made about presidential brother Billy, not Jimmy.

mirror, I was commenting about those on THIS BOARD "who can't type his name....."  Maybe you should read things a second time before you start jumping up and down and stamping your feet:)

Remember Right is Right and left is wrong!  Bush '04

Wow- hard to let that one go.  Were you in a coma for the Clinton years?  The RIGHT invented the hatred gig for the new century with its over the top attacks on Clinton.

You must have been so deep in providerville  you did not notice an IMPEACHMENT/lynching in DC!  Or the Starr Chamber?

And there are tons of things to HATE Bush for (Cowardice, sliminess, corruption, stupidity, rash foreign policy, letting Osama get away, lack of focus, corornation by Supreme Court to name just a few), while Kerry is really just a guy.

No hatred showed for Clinton????

Well, I would like to welcome you back from your extended vacation on Saturn....I hope the accomodations were wonderful at the Ritz-Carlton Saturn Hotel & Spa & I hope your room had a view of Saturn's rings becuase if you don't think Clinton was subjected to hatred of the most vicious kind, then you haven't been on earth since 1992...

Wackos on the right have said he murdered Vince Foster, was to blame for 9/11, committed treason, & on & on & on of the most utter non-sense imaginable.....He's been blamed for everything except the War of 1812....

I still can't see how anybody can vote for Bush....Well, three  types that will would include: Billionaires, religious nuts, & the "Great Santini" (movie w/Robert Duvall) types, who are people always looking for a fight & since Bush is your "war president", he suits those people fine........
