Connecticut Gov. Rowland Resigns Under Cloud of Scandal

Six months after admitting he lied about accepting free renovations to his cottage that were paid for by state contractors, Connecticut Gov. John Rowland announces he will resign effective July 1. Although Rowland's resignation will put an end to impeachment proceedings, the 47-year-old Republican, now in his third term, could still be indicted on federal corruption charges. HARTFORD, Conn. -- Connecticut Gov. John G. Rowland (R) announced his resignation Monday, as his three-term rule collapsed after revelations that he had accepted gifts worth tens of thousands of dollars from state contractors and top aides.

He was trying to avoid this but a court ruled against him and
apparently that was the final straw for him.

Any impeachment testimony could have been used against him in
court on the other charges.

That creates live ones like Rowland.  But I must state that Rowland is an amateur when compared to the former king Buddy of Providence.

    Boston politics used to be fun, but now we just roll along with plain vanilla, dull polls.  Where in the hell is Kevin White when you need him?

Just take a look at the town he is from. Waterbury, I think the last 4 mayors from that town are in prison, the latest ended up there because the SW he was "dating" sold her young daughters to him so she could get some crack. Sick fucker!!

This guy has been taking "gifts" for years. I guess he thought he was a better liar than my man Bill Clinton.

Is there anything more useless than a New England Republican?

After the Senate impeachment vote, I knew most were useless.  But I had no reason to believe that some were corrupt, too.
