That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Americans had been doing these jobs for years before the cheap labor arrived. Now, after the all the wages have been depressed, do people make this arguement. Of course Americans don't want to accept work at wages that are half of what the same job paid 10 years ago.

Greed, thats all this is about. Our leaders are selling their citizenship out for the greedy demands of corporate America. Business is saying "we don't want to pay American citizens a fair wage, so we will flood the country with cheap labor from abroad". Of course we still want the American Consumer to by our product.
So in a nutshell, these "immigrants" that we should be so proud of are taking jobs from us and driving down wages. Thats some form of "cultural enrichment".

He has eight children including a high school aged daughter who is pregnant and a son who isn't even 21 yet--who had 2 children. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

In just 2 generations, these invaders will be in the majority population wise. They will be the ones running this country. They couldn't even run their own country, thats why they left.

Do you guys here on TER have any sense of gratitude to your forfathers who went through many trials and tribulations to give us this land. Any sense of allegiance to your children so that they may grow up in a great country as you did?  Is there even an ounce of courage among you? You know, courage, what many genarations before have showed to keep this nation free. To make it great? Instead you just lay down and freely let an alien group invade us, steal our jobs, take our resources, ect...

BUT,, the main reason for this influx of millions to this country;

A one world government. Globalism. There are powers that want to literally break this great nation. The best way to do this is by diluting the population that makes it great. United we stand....Divided we fall...Importing 38 million mexicans who outbreed us 4 to 1 is one way of ensuring this. Importing hundreds of thousands Hmong refugees, somalies and whoever else is another. All the while, our tax dollars are paying there way. Paying the way for someone who will, or has, taken an inlaw or a friends job.

I will say we have some courage. California voted to stop aid to illegals. Over 60% did.
Kansas just did the same thing with over 80%.
The problem is our court system keeps overturning our vote as "unconstitutional". The Constitution also says to protect our boarders from the same people who are wrongfully receiving our aid. What gives?
In a nutshell, our government doesn't represent us. We vote to stop something and they say; to bad, were going to do it anyway.
We do have the right to overthrow our government when it fails to represent us. Of the people, by the people and FOR the people.
I have the courage to make change. I just need the rest of the country to stand up with me.

and the Russians would have had the H-bomb and MIRV missiles ahead of us as well.  Since we know that most of the critical science that allowed us to develop these weapons first came from immigrants who were escaping from persecution in Germany and the Soviet bloc.  And we must be damn glad that they saw the U.S. as the beacon of hope for their futures.  And of course, had we NOT had those weapons ahead of our enemies, none of us would be sitting here today shooting the shit on an adult website.

If millions of Americans would stand up to their congressmen and Senators, tell them that were not happy with the immigration trends, the deflation of wages. Tell me Stilltryin, when the government overturns our VOTING WISHES what are we to do. Why have a voting system where if big brother doesn't like what it's citizens want and vote for, they just overule it.

I ask you as someone I feel is my elder, what do we do in these situations? Myself and millions across the states of Kansas and California feel as if our votes don't matter. We have lost respect for our government when it ignores our voting wishes. What is the solution?

- We already have a system that you described.  No politician who goes against the wishes of his or her constituency stays in office for long, witness Mrs. McKinley of Georgia.  There are many more cases where the "people" threw out politicains who were not representing their interest.

- Regardless of their high praise for the concept, the founding fathers were inherently suspicious of true run by the people.  This is one reason why our constitution (the original one, not the amended one that exists today) was so layered with checks and balances to insure that no group in the compact (the people, the president, congress and the courts) could seize ultimate power.

    One thing that you obviously cannot see, is that varying viewpoints, honed in various cultures, often come up with better solutions to problems than a monolithic group can come up with.  This is why the USA, with it's Jewish, Italian, Pole, Chech, Russian, Spanish, a sprinkling of Negroes (the term used then for Blacks), Greek, and many other ethnic groups and ethnic mixtures of those groups was the big hammer that the Brits and the French resistance needed to help defeat the Nazis in Europe in WWII.
