I was talkin' baseball with someone and how the Yankees (9 out) and Red Sox (8 out) are in the cellar of the AL East. That led to some reminiscing and that there was a tie in to contemporary politics. Way back in 1978, the Yankees were 14 games out of 1st place in the AL East. Manager Billy Martin had several run-ins with owner George Steinbrenner and the egotistical RF/DH Reggie Jackson.

It got to the point that Martin said in a press conference, "The two men deserve each other. One's a born liar, the other's convicted." Reggie Jackson was the born liar. Steinbrenner pled guilty to making illegal campaign contributions to Nixon and lying to a grand jury about it. (Martin was wrong on a technicality as a guilty plea is not the same as a conviction at trial.)

Martin was replaced by Don Lemon the next day and the Yankees went on the win the 1978 World Series over the Dodgers, 4-3.

But bringing that up to date, everyone already knows that DJT is a born liar and fabulist. Sometime soon, he could be convicted of same. And he will be able to honestly brag that is as good as Steinbrenner and Jackson rolled into one.

I would say it is unlikely re: all the cases because one Trumper at least will make it on those juries and that person would dream of The Don putting him in a commercial with him, or bringing him up on stage at a rally as a superstar agent against "fake news."

...and he's also very IGNORANT about juries as well.  It's clear that he has NEVER served on a jury.

 
I've had experience with hundreds of jurors from all walks of life.  One thing I know is that they take jury duty very seriously and when they go into that jury room to deliberate, they set aside everything else and only consider the evidence.

 
I am sure that Robert is unaware that in the E. Jean Carroll trial against Trump, one of the jurors listened to podcasts by a "notorious far-right Youtuber."  The podcaster espouses far-right ideas, conspiracy theories, misogyny and otherwise hateful content.  The podcaster sympathized with Kyle Rittenhouse and Kanye West when Ye made antisemitic statements.

 
Carroll's attorneys tried to get the juror excluded but he was allowed to remain.  In the end, this juror voted with the other jurors in a unanimous verdict against Trump.

 
Robert is not very Respectful in his attitude towards jurors.  He probably avoids jury duty like the plague.

Not surprised you didn't know that. Things are a bit different when jail time is on the line. You also have clearly never heard of jury nullification. Ask any lawyer as it's a real thing I promise. Instead of pontificating, why don't you look into those two things I mention?

One "Trumper" who doesn't vote with all the other jurors is NOT an example of jury nullification.  It is an example of a "holdout" who causes a "hung jury" which results in a "mistrial."

 
Jury nullification occurs in a criminal trial when an ENTIRE jury refuses to follow the law and acquits the defendant even though the evidence is incontrovertible that the defendant was guilty.  Not surprised you did not know that.

 
Jury nullification can also occur in CIVIL cases.  Not surprised you did not know that.  If a jury rules for one party even though the evidence is clearly in favor of the other party, that's jury nullification.  However, in a civil case, the jury doesn't necessarily get the final word.  The losing party can make a motion for a Judgment N.O.V.  If the judge grants the motion, he will enter judgment for the losing party despite the jury's verdict.
