I’m sure DC is enjoying a festive afternoon !  McCain’s speech in Texas yesterday illustrates how his expose to global conflict can aid him in placing strategic plans for our country both economically and for security.
It’s refreshing to hear a candidate face reality head on instead of eloquently suggesting pipe dreams for their term in office. I’m in support of real answers to the troubles our country is facing right now, not the happy “rose colored” vision of what life should be in America. Our National security, our economic stability and the American hope for the next few years will need experience and dedication from an American who is accustomed to standing his ground on issues which challenge the American way of life. Not a candidate that is more interested in the glory of the position and the benefits of the office.
I’d suggest the American voters look into their beliefs and what they define as American Ideals, the same beliefs that this country was founded on and then consider how the candidates running has aligned themselves with those values and beliefs. Devotion to the office and the country it represents should hold more influence with the voters than a charming speech that glosses over the hardships our country is facing right now.
Some believe the office of the president should be obtained for their own benefit and to aide themselves in attaining the power and credibility they have long been hoping for all of their life, others have devoted their entire life to serving this country, be certain when you cast your vote you keep in mind what the individual will be striving for if they are placed in office. The office of president is a civil service duty position and not a trophy to be used as a feather in an individuals cap. It will take hard work, long hours and a devoted strength of character to guide this country through the trials that it might face in the years to come.
One candidate in particular had their goals set on the Senate but upon attaining that goal didn’t utilize the position he was entrusted to effectively. How do you chair a committee and not call one meeting? Doe the excuse that they are campaigning hold water with the citizens he was elected to serve? Shouldn’t more thought have been placed in accepting such a position knowing in advance the demands a campaign would carry? I just ask these questions to help illustrate an individual who might be more interested in a title and a position that he is in working for this country.
On a personal note, Tori it’s great to see you back in the US- you need to stay longer next time you visit. Thanks again Tori for the return visit, I’m hoping everyone has a great afternoon.

will be able to avoid snarking at each other over the war?

Gotta say, if I had to choose which one I wanted to cover my back, it'd have to be Webb.
