We (my service related co. ) are constantly getting calls from people looking for work and we have to turn them away no matter some of them are tops in what they do. We have been getting resumes from execs that work for our competition, sorry, cannot hire them as our work comes from the same source as theirs and there just is no new work.

Lately we have been getting calls from new co's. trying to sell us  the same service that we offer. Now if this is the current admins idea of helping new small business with the SBA, there are going to be even more bankruptcies very shortly

I have seen opposing reports on the economy and my own experience is it is not doing well. No money for a vacation this year, no money to play this year, no money for anything other than basic needs. My stocks still have not gotten back to where they were prior to 9/11/2001.

I am happy the mortgage brokers and people that are into real estate did so well. What is going to happen when all the first time home buyers come to the end of their 3 year ARM to find that the new monthly payment has just skyrocketed to 3 times as much? Also the temporary employment agencies.
 But what other industry has fared well in the past 2 years?

It seems to be at somewhat of a crossroad.  I do not have a good sense of what is causing the stalling, one possibility is that oil prices have finally worked themselves into people's everyday reality.  If the level of oil prices is the problem, then it will be interesting to see what happens when the pek driving season ends in about three weeks.
    I have also noticed that theatres, Malls and resturants are not as crowded as they were in the March-April timeframe.

I never saw it getting any better. Sure there was a little blip on the factory orders but nothing that was really an indicator that it was going to last.
