Will  Donald H. Rumsfeld resign or get fired before midnight?  :-)

I'm not sure, but I think Nicole, RLTW and I took up the bet with you.

I think I haven't posted for a while.  Haven't looked at politics fmuch lately Birbrite.  Didn't Rummie resign?

You get bragging rights.  I gave up on the terms of the bet publcally and privately several months ago.

We will continue to disagree (and respect each other).  I will hold my nose and vote for Mr Kerry and we will cancel each other out.  If I remember correctly, you are from California.  Mr Kerry will carry both our states.

I still think that Mr Kerry will win the election.  So do a lot of Republican commentors.  I don't think that either man will get us out of Iraq one minute faster than the other.  We should see a drip in troops after the elections there.  They won't be as big as people want, but they will drop.

Harry :-)

Voting for Hanoi John will take more than holding your nose, you might want to hold on to your wallet too!

I'm not so sure about Mass and California.  I think Arnold could make an impact here and I have just a slight bit more respect for the intellect of the people of Mass than you seem to, and Gov Mit could help Bush allot.

There is still two months until the election and the more people learn about Hanoi John, the more you will hear that chant, "anybody but Kerry"!

BTW, care to renew the bet on the November election, double or nothing?

However, I continue to think Mr Kerry will win.  I think you probably believe the same thing.  I'm sure that he will have his ups and downs, but he is a reasonably smart man and he has an ability to think in a nuanced way.  Mr Kerry is a little too out of touch with his own humanity for my tastes.  It will make him like a Wilson rather than a Roosevelt and he will have problems like Wilson -- failing in some programs because he is too out of touch with what people are willing to accept.

As for Arnold and Mitt, don't forget that the GOP has went after Mr Kerry with Bill Weld -- a politician that can put Mit to shame.  He lost.  Romney is not in good shape politically in the state:  he will soon be looking for an appt in some GOP think tank.
