Bush denounces 527s

Well, Bush has now denounced all 527 ads. Let's see if Kerry will have the same backbone...

I doubt it!!

It is well documented that the 527's "somewhat" of an equilizer for the D's, and that the R's have always said they should go away, as their net loss will be less than the D's.  So, hmmm... how to give the image of being fair?  Got it...make up a 527 that is so shrill that Kerry HAS to say something about it (Swift Boat Vets, anyone?), which also distracts him (and voters) from focusing on real issues and makes Kerry start to have to counter their guano, then say "Oh, we are against 527's!" to seem like they really care about fairness.

Just warms my heart.  Good old fashioned family values.

With the anti-Kerry swiftboaters taking on water everyday now, Mr.Bush had to come out against groups like them.  The political backlash against him for not coming out against such groups would have only gotten worse, I think by coming out now, he reduces, but not minimizes the damage.

Goerge Soros gave 15 million to MoveON.org and the later aformentioned spent 60 million the last 6 months slandering Bush. Calling him a coward, AWOL, chicken to go to Vietnam, etc. etc.  You know, all the things you Dudes have been parrotting. Then Clinton and the other stooges said it in speeches at the convention.  I'm glad people are fighting back for Bush.

I think Kerry should apologize to the vets for what he said to the congressional committee when he was just back from Nam.

The truth will come out.  John Kerry is a COWARD and he committed war crimes because he was a coward.  A Sampan was shot up w/50 cal machine guns because of his dereliction of duty in a free fire zone.  A man and a little kid were shot to bits in front of the mother with a little baby.  He shot up a village's animals and then torched the huts for no reason.

Read Unfit for Command if you have the balls!!!

The truth will come out AND THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREEEE!

Dole and Bush just told us GOPers to take the high road.  Dole talked to Kerry on the phone and asked him to apologize and focus on things other than Vietnam. As usual, Kerry equivocated.

that SBVFT are the liars.  Pity no one took pictures that day and it will be a "their story against our story" until the election, in spite of the fact that this only became an issue now that Kerry is up for President.

Kerry was courageous enough to take a pricipled stand and tell the truth before Congress.  That in many ways takes more balls than being shot at.  I can live with the scar from the grenade fragment in my hand...I couldn't live with supressing the truth just because I had to toe the line because of someone's jingoistic definition of "national security".  That Kerry did this makes me respect him more than I would ever respect someone who just killed people.  Battlefield courage can be instinctual...the courage to take an unpopular stand to this extreme is spiritual.

As Prometheus found out, heaven help the man who goes against the masses.

This rivals your most lame posts for its sheer wrong headedness and failure to adhere to facts.  Perhaps you are mixing up Kerry and Kerrey?  Either way, your total lack of knowledge about the historical record, politics and world situation are again on display for all to see and unfortunately comment on.

On the other hand, we all know where to go when we need the role of the chauvinist, wacko, bigotted grandfather.  Do you live in LA?  You are clearly a natural, and Hollywood features a lot of such roles.

Please take the meds that are offered to you.  And frequent the ladies.  But don't confuse yourself with Andy Rooney, or Bill Buckley.  They think before they spout.

I commend him for his service and some of his actions while he was an effectual Sen. But his most recent accomplishments are hawking Viagra and living in the past.

Best quote of the day was something along the following lines:

"Viagra must be one powerful drug...it has made Bob Dole an even bigger prick."

This from a guy who supports Kerry, a man who wants to talk about what he did for 4 months over 20 years ago and not discuss his last 20 years in the Senate. I know we don't agree on a lot, but don't be such a hypocrite!!

I haven't seen them compare Kerry to Adolf Hitler, like MoveOn.org. They have the monopoly on shrill...

Shrill is far fron innaccurate.

Dem 527 directly attack Bush's record. Things he has done that are asinine, bad policy, dangerous, or reckless.  He competes in a lot of categories, and thus invites alot of comparisons.  I forgot what the comparison was with Hitler, but I bet it was an exxageration, not a blatent known untruth.  No one thinks he is about to order the rounding up and killing of every Muslim in the US(except maybe about 30 Million people in the MidEast).  But he HAS gone to war on a thin pretext to grab resources, so there are valid comparisons to be made.  They might be reaches and not the best comparisons (Napoleon in Egypt might be a better one) but they are valid.

GOP 527s have tended to make personal attacks that are not based on the record, but on claims unsubstantiated by other sources.

Huge difference.  Bush's record begs attacks as it is so amazingly poor- in just about every measurable way.  To attack Kerry, you sort of have to make shit up.

Were they arguing on policy, I think the debate would be worse for Bush, so he is happy to leave the media here.

I may be wrong, but I believe MoveOn.org had a competition where people were invited to send in potential ads and the best entries would then be used by them.  A couple of the entries were outrageous, but were not used by MoveOn.org.

In 2000, the Bush campaign ran push polls in South Carolina that implied that John McCain has an illegitimate black child.  The 2002 Republican opponent of Sen. Max Cleland ran ads comparing Cleland to Osama and Saddam.  To make the claim that MoveOn.org has the monopoly on shrill is simply ridiculous.

but it was posted on MoveOn.org's web site. That pretty much makes them responsible.

Remember that video Dumbya had on his website, the one showing images of various "angry" Democrats like Gore and Gephardt edited together, with a clip of Hitler in the middle of it?

Funny how the Republicans somehow forgot about that tasteless attack ad.
