I swear this is just an honest question. I have no idea why Jews wear these odd funny little hats. Why?

I’ve never been much of a hat person. But the only hats I could ever keep on my head the rare times I’ve worn them are baseball caps that have some tension around your head. Jews seem to wear these funny little hats that are like I dunno, about the size of a pancake, and somehow they don’t fall off. Why do Jews do this? And how do they keep them on their heads? Is there some kind of velcro thing going on? Do they just learn to never tilt their heads sideways? Can anyone give me the inside scoop on this?

In a related question, do popes ever crash into chandeliers?

"The Jewish yamaka, also known as a kippah, primarily symbolizes reverence and humility in relation to God. It's a reminder of a higher power and a form of acknowledging the divine presence. While not explicitly commanded in the Torah, it's a tradition that developed over time to express respect and to distinguish sacred time from everyday life." - Gemini AI

The question not only demonstrates what a fucking moron willy the dumb cunt is, but also demonstrates what a racist loser he is as well.

It's the same thing. Also, I've seen Jews attach the thing with a bobbie pin to keep it in place.

Kinda reminds me of the weird black hats the Amish wear. Do Jews ever wear both the black hat + pancake, or is it just one or the other?

I think you're talking about Hassidic Jews. They are the most extreme in their beliefs. Personally, like all religious extremists, I think they're nuts.

Growing up in Virginia as far as I knew I never saw any. I once took a trip to Baltimore when I was a teen and saw a Hassidic Jew in a convenience store and almost asked him if it was Halloween. It was kind of a culture shock.

I have a fair number of family in Pennsylvania and Ohio, many of them are Mennonites. I was more exposed to the Amish than Jews growing up.

What part of the DMV are you talking about. There are synagogues all over the place. Maybe you live in the outer suburbs.  You are correct that there is a significant population of Hasidic Jews in the Baltimore area.

…growing up my uncle ended up marrying a Catholic. That was considered quite the scandal in the family.

You all must have had a conniption fit when JFK was elected President.
